Lots of Questions about Cemetary Reef

Where is Cemetary Reef? Is it far from the Pier area? How much would a cab cost to get there for 4 people? Im looking for a great snorkeling spot. Is it a really good place to snorkel? Do you just walk out right from the beach and snorkel there? How far out do you have to swim there to see the most fish? What other ammenities are there on the beach? Can you rent equipment there? Beach chairs? Buy food and drinks?

Thanks!

I'm just guessing, since I haven't taken a cab there myself, but it would likely be about $6-8 per person each way to get there?

As far as I know, Cemetary Reef has no facilities of any kind. You will need your own gear. There are no restrooms, chair rentals, food, drinks, etc.

If you want good snorkelling with facilities and rentals, head to the right of the tender docks to Eden Rock and the other stops along that section.

It is towards West Bay and a cab will cost nearer US$15. Arrange the fare before leaving!

There are no amenities - go to Calico Jacks if you want the bathroom etc - it a 10 minute walk along the beach, to the left (back towards town)

We felt that the snorkeling was very good at Cemetery but you do have to swim out a ways to get to the reef. We took small blow up rafts with us and took turn using them when we wanted to rest while swimming out to the reef and back. The beach at Cemetery is beautiful and there were very few people there when we were there.

If you want good snorkeling with rental equipment and facilities Eden Rock would be a good choice but there is no beach there.

I hope this helps!

Enjoy!
