Yes, there is - Lind Point Trail will take you over to Saloman and Honeymoon beaches. We plan to do this in Sept. since we've already been to Trunk Bay.

There's a map on this link:

You should also stop by The Beach Bar which overlooks Cruz Bay:

kcparrotthead,

What is the time to get from Havensight to Red Hook to get on the ferry over to St. John's. We will be sailing on AOS at the end of June and your beach suggestions sound good. Thanks.:)

I can't remember for sure, but I think it was less than 1/2 hour. We waited for friends when we got off the ship, so when we arrived at Red Hook we had just missed that ferry. I would suggest getting right off the ship and taking the taxi over to catch the first ferry if you want to maximize your time in St. John.

I know there are two ferries for St. John. If we miss the 9 a.m. ferry from town, how much is the taxi from Havensight to Red Hook ferry since it runs every hour. We've been to St. Thomas several times now but never seen St. John. I assume we are docking at Havensight since we are on a Royal Caribbean ship and not Princess for Crown Bay.

Here are the prices from Charlotte Amalie (Havensight) - not sure what the cost is for the Charlotte Amalie ferry, but you can find that info at: http://st-thomas.com/ferries.html

Cab from Port to Red Hook Ferry - $10. per person each way (however, there is a $2.00 bus that you can take - you pick it up at K-Mart - I haven't tried that)

Ferry $12.20 p.p. round trip

Taxi from Cruz Bay to Trunk Bay - $6.p.p. each way

If you go to Trunk Bay, last I heard it was $4.p.p.

You should see Trunk Bay at least once!

Thanks for the info. Have you been to Cinnamon Bay next to Trunk Bay? I was researching that one last night also and it appears to be good except people have seen some sharks.

We tried to go to Cinnamon Bay, even though I had read that all facilities are closed in September when we went. There were storms out at sea, so there was literally NO beach - the water was up to the tree line. Just from my observations, I think Trunk is the better beach as far as facilities go, however, it started to get pretty crowded around noon. We went to the far end of the beach and it wasn't so bad.
