Question About Luggage Tags

Recommended Posts

I'm sailing on LOS and arriving a day early. According to these boards

it's been said that I SHOULD NOT attach the RCL tags until I am

already in Miami. What if the luggage gets lost? How do they

know where I am staying at? Do I attach the name of the hotel

on the luggage? Thanks.

Your luggage should have a name tag attached to the outside and your name and home address written somewhere on the inside. If it is lost, you will go to the baggage claim office at the airport and let them know where you will be staying.

The ships luggage tags only mean something to the Port and Ship employees, the airlines will not understand them.

I alway put a sheet of paper just inside my suitcase with my name, itinery, hotel name, cell phone number etc.

I do the same. I keep a word document on my computer and just change the info every time we travel.

Another thing to do is to take a picture of your luggage. I start my vacation by doing this.

On our last trip DH's luggage got lost and the agent at the airport liked the picture of the lost luggage.

I also take a picture of my name and cell number with my camera. In case it gets lost I may have a chance of getting the pictures back.
