canjay95 Posted May 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2009 I'm new to these boards and just booked my cruise on the Triumph in January. Can anyone tell me if the pools are filled with clear water or is it sea water? I assume it will be too cold to swim in them until we hit warmer air and water. I know a few years ago cruise pools were filled with sea water, but wasn't sure with the new updates to the pool areas if that was still the case. If it is sea water, does it look gross? Sorry if all of this has been asked before.
MrPete Posted May 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2009 Sea water, and it's clear. AND cold!
cb at sea Posted May 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2009 It's filtered--there's no "sea life" in it! But, it is saltwater!
MamaParrotHead Posted May 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2009 It is sea water, and the times we've cruised (April-May) it's been refreshingly brisk, but I wouldn't say "cold".

JaniceB Posted May 27, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2009 Since the Triumph will be doing Canada cruises this summer do you think they can heat the pool that is under cover? I heard the pool on the Spirit can be quite warm when it cruises Alaska.
MrPete Posted May 27, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2009 I wish. The Spirit class ships are the only ones I've felt them heated. On the Victory 2 summers ago, the pools were 62 degrees. WAY TOO cold for even one of my toes to touch.
WinnipegCruiser Posted May 27, 2009 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2009 I like the salt water. It is a great way to keep the water sanitary.
