BluesCruise Posted May 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2009 I am flying into Vancouver at 1:45 pm next Saturday, staying overnight at the YWCA Hotel. My ship (Mercury) leaves at 5:00 pm on Sunday from Ballantyne Pier. The ship returns on the following Sunday at 7:00 am, but I'll stay another night at the YWCA Hotel. I don't fly home until Monday at 4:30 pm. So, that leaves me with free time in Vancouver Saturday afternoon/evening, Sunday morning, the following Sunday all day, and Monday morning. I'm a 48 y.o. woman, traveling solo. I want to see the major sights, don't want to shop, have a nice but not ridiculously expensive dinner. If there's anything that Vancouver is famous for, I'd like to see or do that, too. Any suggestions as to what to see and when/how to see it? Thanks in advance. Putterdude Posted June 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2009 You can tell that early summer weather has arrived in Vancouver when you don't get responses...sorry:o For the first Sunday you may care to take a trip to down to Stanely Park and then when you come back I would suggest an excursion on one of the HOHOs. Their tickets are good for two consecutive days so you would get get value from them. For dinner at a reasonable price you may care for Rosies on Robson...a bit of pub atmosphere, or either Moxies or the Whitespot on Granville. http://www.vancouvertrolley.com/ http://www.bigbus.ca/ http://www.elephantcastle.com/content/locations/vancouver http://www.whitespot.com/ http://www.moxies.ca/

There are all sorts of things to do and see in Vancouver, gardens, landmarks, beaches you name it. What do you like? As for the dinner, there again there are all sorts of options. Is there a specific kind of food you really like, or can't get at home?
