Cab to Pacific???

WE will be in Colon, Pamama on our New Years cruise. The ship has a train tour to the Pacific. Says it takes an hour. Can we get a cab to take us to the Pacific and show us Panama?? Have been on cruise into the canal but never went ashore. Thanks for your answer! And, ....Smile............Bonnie J

Absolutely. After you get off the ship and go through the terminal, you will see a "taxi agent" and lots of cabs willing to take you anywhere you want. If you have another couple with you it will be cheaper for all of you. We took a very nice tour for several hours this way a couple of years ago. Be sure to specify that you want an English speaking driver.

Just be sure to allow plenty of time to get back to the ship. We encountered major traffic jams both times we were in Panama and since there are few main roads there is no way to go around the jams. One time, we were over almost two hours late getting back to the ship. Luckily we were on a ship excursion so they waited for us.
