How is the weather in November?

By November it's starting to cool down

the worst of the Rainy Season is behind us

the worst of the Hurricane Season is past

and it's coming into the nicest time of year, i.e. Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb

when temperatures and humidity on the island are tolerable

(You don't wanna be here in Aug/Sept.)

To Dear Aplmac,

You made my day.I was so worried about the rain.

How hot does it usually get around the end of November?

I'm no temperature expert

but I'd say the daily high gets to no more than about 85 degrees Farenheit?

Like I said earlier, it starts to cool down by early November(most years)

and by Christmas, it's quite pleasant here! :)

I had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving Day swimming with the turtles (in 2007). It was a picture perfect day. I didn't feel that it was overly hot or humid, and it sure beat cooking for the holiday!:D

I was on the Ruby for last Thanksgiving. I hope you love that ship as much as I did. Happy Cruising!:)

oh thank you so much.

What was your favorite port or ports?

All of them...I'm on cruise/vacation.:D

My cruise on the Ruby was Western Caribbean with stops in Grand Cayman (my favorite--loved the stingray bar), Cozumel and Princess Cays. Ocho Rios was a stop as well but the ship couldn't dock, and the stop was cancelled.

In 2007, on the Crown, we went to St. Thomas, Tortola (my favorite), Antigua, Barbados, and St. Lucia. I loved Tortola because it is not as developed (IMO) as other islands. I really enjoyed swimming with the turtles in Barbados. The beaches and snorkeling were fantastic.

I really like Princess and that class of ships. Even though I was on board during Thanksgiving week with full capacity and lots of families, it never felt crowded. I think the ship has a great layout. I like the Terrace Pool (one of the adults pool) and it really never felt crowded and was quiet compared to the main pool area.

how many degrees is it usually?

I won't hold you to it..lol.

What's the coolest it gets?

Average Summer mid-day/afternoon heat gets to around 90 degrees F.

A scorching day will get up to around 32 degrees Celsius(our official measurement scale)

= about 95!!

which is quite unbearable for a normally-breezy island

(it's the breeze that controls the heat - a 32-33 C. day happens rarely

on Summer Days of Doldrums, if you know what that is... little or no wind)

.....................

The coolest it gets -around Xms and New Years- is around 70 degrees F.

but the record is somewhere down around 65, I think

and yes we all remember that December? night in the '80s

At the time, I was living up on top the island at 930 ft. abv. sea-level

in a rather drafty old house.

Blankets, socks, the whole bit!

I think though that you should be prepared for some level of rain...some Novembers can be quite rainy...in fact October/November are usually the rainiest months of the year here on the island.

I am thinking of a late March Early April 2010 cruise. I was wondering what the water temperatures were like at that time of year. Too cold to snorkle or swim in the ocean?

This time of the year is pretty hot...even by caribbean standards and is pretty dry as well so chances of rain are minimal.

I'm not sure what the best snorkel conditions are by if dry and hot is among them then you should be all set. ;)

I will be in Barbados Feb 10th. ===> Good time!

What is the normal temp that time of year. ===> Days are 80-85. Nights are around 75.

Is it usually be hot enough to snorkel and do the beach?

February is a good time, Dry Season is on the way

so little or no rain, and the seas are swimmable temperatures

-nothing like the Great Lakes..:D

I think I am going to go to plan B and not go on a summer (July) cruise to the eastern Caribbean. I have a cruise booked mid-July next year 2016 for my anniversary that includes Barbados plus Antigua, St Kitts etc and it sounds like I will be miserable and just want to be indoors the whole time. I am an Arizona desert rat and used to temperatures above 100 but humidity is usually low. We have monsoon rains here in the summer and have high humidity during those months and temps usually are brought down to the 80's 90's but I think I may be pushing it to keep this cruise booked. Can anyone tell me what to expect mid-July?

We did our first Caribbean cruise (southern) in late August. We also did a 2-week stay in Barbados in late August.

While the temp's may be a little hotter, you have the advantage of fewer crowds...

Cheers, P:)
