millercat Posted June 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Ladies, I just found a wonderful gown on ebay but I am not sure what to do about size. I normally wear an 8 or 10 in US sizes depending on the make of the dress so would I buy a 12 UK size just to be safe? The measurements seem a bit large for the 10 US but the dress is form fitting and I don't want to look poured into it especially since my hips are big. I would post a picture of it but have no idea how to do it. Any advice would be appreciated. Laine
6rugrats Posted June 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2009 I don't think the picture matters. Will this seller allow you to return the dress if it doesn't fit? If the measurements are given, you can use those. If it's a little big, you can always have it tailored. I always use this size chart from Boden: http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/help/fit-and-style-guides/size-charts/womens-fit-and-size-charts.html

phillycruise Posted June 9, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2009 I am a Brit and wear US size 6/8 or UK 10/12 on the bottom half and a US 8 or UK 12 on the top half. I would say that a UK 12 is more like a US 8. and a UK 14 is more like a US 10. Good Luck with the fit.
