bondscruisegal Posted June 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2009 I cruised to Alaska on the Mercury two weeks ago and it docked at Ballantyne pier.
Rare Lois R Posted June 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Mercury is sailing out of Ballenytine. She is the only ship there. Infinity goes out of Seattle and I believe Millennium doesn't dock at either one;)
c-to-sea Posted June 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Some of the early season visits to Vancouver used either Canada Place or Ballantyne. Now Celebrity and RCCL are almost exclusively using Ballantyne. There may still be some exceptions, though, so best to check the port schedule for the latest information. http://www.portmetrovancouver.com/about/cruiseandtourism/cruiselineschedules.aspx Millennium is using Ballantyne every other week. Imagineer Posted June 11, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2009 ...actually Lois, the Millenium is using Ballantyne Pier this season. Ballantyne Pier is being used almost exclusively by Celebrity and RCL, with all the other lines utilizing Canada Place... ...what you may be alluding to is the fact that when Mercury is embarking, she is the only ship at that pier on that given day, Sunday, as the Millenium leaves on each Friday evening... cheers, the Imagineer

To be precise, since the Millennium is doing one-way cruises this year, she only docks at Ballantyne every other Friday. :D Dave

c-legs Posted June 12, 2009 #11 Share Posted June 12, 2009 I believe Millennium doesn't dockat either one;)[/quote Hi, Where would she perform her debark/embark every other friday ???:D:D Tendering ? ( lol,of course...) She docks at Ballantyne along with every other RCL's family vessels during this summer, on regular turnarounds. In 2010 however, there is no reason imagineable why RCL would not use CanadaPlace, given their same schedule as this year. 1/ NOBODY ELSE will be in town on Fridays ( Radiance // Millie) 2/ There will only be ONE other ship in town on Sundays ( HAL), save for 2-3 occasions, and CanadaPlace is capabale of handling 4 ships in a pinch, 3 quite regularly. ( Mercury) Seriously, Ballantyne , by itself, is not a bad terminal;has been spruced up nicely, and is vast.....but what an horrible location.... Cheers :);)
Putterdude Posted June 12, 2009 #12 Share Posted June 12, 2009 To my knowledge the docking schedule for 2010 will not be available until after the new year however for this season Celebrity is using Ballantyne Pier however the Mercury appears to be using Canada Place on October 12th. Cheers :);) Hi, I just had to chuckle.... Given the deplorable location industrial piers we've docked at around the world, we don't mind Ballantyne at all. :D And I completely agree, it's been spruced up quite nicely and is convenient to use.
