clewiskids Posted June 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2009 I am considering taking a parka for this trip - does anyone have any opinions if that would be necessary? I also plan on layering.
Rare RachelG Posted June 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Will see you on board in 9 days! I am not taking a parka. We haven't been to Norway, but we had been to Alaska and northern Canada many times. I take multiple layers. I had a fleece sweater and thicker fleece jacket with a rain jacket that can be worn over both. I am taking both cotton and wool longsleeve turtle necks to wear under these, and a couple of cotton t shirts to wear under as well if needed. I think I am also going to take my silk long johns for a base layer--may not need them but they take hardly any packing room. Bring gloves for sure. OrpingtonT Posted June 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2009 For my part, I am taking a warm coat, plus the layering of fleeces etc as described by RachelG. But I don't expect to be doing any walking around at the various ports. We shall be well into the Arctic Circle!
Lovesatq Posted June 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2009 I was surprised on how much colder Norway was compared to Denmark in March and was happy I brought along a warm coat, gloves and hat. Layers is the best way to go but don't forget gloves.
