Open Seating - Anytime Dining

We are confirmed for open seating on the Conquest (early seating was full). I understand that this is the anytime dining option. Can someone explain how this works? We've never done this before.

Thanks!

Basically, service is like a restaurant. You show up, announce to the MaitreD you exist. Often you'll be given one of those electronic things that announces when a table your size [or a portion of a larger table with enough seats for your party] becomes available.

One of those options often becomes avail. in 15-20 minutes.

This was our experience on the Elation with Anytime Dining, and we found it to be very enjoyable for us.

  • 2 lines into the dining room...one side for the assigned seating and the other for Anytime. Walk up on the side marked Anytime
  • The hostess will ask how many in your party and will ask for cabin number(s). We had a party of 4 between 2 cabins and had Anytime dining assigned to both.
  • They asked if we wanted to dine alone or with a larger group...we chose a table for just the 4 of us.
  • One night there was a short wait right after the Captains Party let out, but otherwise just a minute or two.
  • They walk you to your table...there is a table card announcing the names of your waitstaff team.
  • The waiters come over and your meal begins.
  • If you like the waitstaff team that served you on night 1, you can request a table in thier section when you come to dinner on the following nights of your cruise. We did and had no issue with getting a table.

Hope this helps!

All sounds about right....only I can add that I requested a certain waiter a couple times and was told his section was full, etc.....

Yea, we had that too the night we went to dinner right after the captains party so there was a big rush, but we didnt have to wait too long. And he was worth the wait, we had excellent service!

Almost exactly correct. Only rarely are you not able to be seated without being given an pager, unless you have a table of 5 or more. There are plenty of tables for four and fewer and it is rare that those folks have to wait.

We had a table for 2 and on two occassions we did not wait.....other than that it was an average of about 10-15 minute wait. However, one night we did wait over 30 minutes. We went most nights around 7-7:30. The nights we had no wait were after 8:00.
