Day in brooklyn post cruise

Hi fellow cruisers, Im planning on my first New England cruise for this September. Will be having a few days pre cruise in New York to do all the tourist things, but then on final day of the cruise will disembark in Brooklyn in the morning and then dont have a flight back to the UK until the evening from Newark. i was wondering if any of you guys have been in this position and what you did with yourselves & your luggage for the day. Dont really fancy sitting in Newark airport for 15hours or lugging our luggage around the streets of Manhatan. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. :confused:

A better forum for NY information is the East Coast Departures board. This New England board is mostly Boston, Newport, Halifax, Bar Harbor and the other New England destinations.
