Upgrades

Oceania offered us a free upgrade from A3 to PH, however, we had to change to an earlier sailing. They offered a choice of sailings about two months earlier, same itinerary. They said our original cruise was overbooked. We took them up on the offer. Since the first booking was one of their special sale price cruises it turned out to be quite a good deal in the end.

One thing to remember is that these ships do not have a large variety of cabin. Inside, oceanview, balcony (deck 6 & 7 are exactly the same cabin but 7 does have Concierge service if that is of value to you), Penthouse, and 4 Vista and 4 Owner's Suites. Not much to really upgrade to. I guess if you booked an oceanview and were upgraded to a balcony that would be good, or balcony to Penthouse, but that is about it. With only 8 total Vista and Owner's suites, not much chance of getting one of those on a "free" upgrade. You would have better opportunties on large ships with lots of cabin choices.
