Dadcab Posted June 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2009 If we choose to keep our bags with us on the last night can we disembark whenever we choose. Have arranged a minivan to collect us and need to confirm a specific time.
Cthy651 Posted June 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2009 I believe, you will be one of the first one off, if you take your own luggage. Not sure what time, that would be. Have a wonderful cruise.;)
wegotrick Posted June 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2009 Just got off of Liberty today. I overheard an older couple asking this question. They were told that although those carrying their own luggage are suppose to get off first, no one would force them off.
Rare silentbob007 Posted June 28, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2009 Keep in mind that once you are off the ship you may still have a while to wait for customs. You can arrange for a specific time but plan on getting off with time to spare just to be sure.
Rare Shippy Posted June 28, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2009 If we choose to keep our bags with us on the last night can we disembark whenever we choose. Have arranged a minivan to collect us and need to confirm a specific time. We have opted to do this already on a Princess & a Holland cruise. You got a color ticket & they wanted you off first. Usually between 7:30 & 8:30. Whenever the ship is cleared. Here is basically why: My husband & I each take a wheeled carry on and a wheeled check in bag. You will be amazed at how many people are going for this option. You will also be amazed how clogged up the hallways & elevators are at that time. Everyone started lining up at 7:00am on the deck for disembarcation. The whole hallway was jammed because we were not cleared until 8. Remember they are shlepping ALL their luggage. They tell you to wait in one of the lounges until called but few do. This was complicated by a few people in wheelchairs in line. They were in the first group to get off that had left their luggage out the night before.THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED OFF UNTIL OUR GROUP WAS THROUGH. So here we were trying to get around wheelchair people in those narrow hallways with 2 pieces of luggage each. There is a crush when the other groups are called & no room for people with all their luggage. We are going to do the same thing on our cruise next week. It is great once you are off. No searching for luggage & easy to get a cab. We actually got on a 10:30 flight instead of our scheduled one at noon. It also helps if you are on an upper floor...easier to get on an emptier elevator.
