Squaretop Posted June 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2009 We'll be in Honolulu for 3 days before departing on the POA. My group is mainly interested in doing the Arizona Memorial and the Missouri and then spending the rest of the time relaxing on the beach. Not a bad idea. But I have plans to get up early one morning and hike Diamond Head, probably by myself. Looks like I can take The Bus to get me to Diamond Head. Does anybody know if The Bus will take me up the Windward Coast to a beach? I'm looking for some photo opportunities. Suggestions as to the most picturesque spots? With only a $2.00 fare I can afford to get on and off several times. Trying to avoid renting a car, especially if I go by myself.
Alanscruise Posted June 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2009 The Bus will take you just about anywhere and it is clean and efficient. On the windward side try Kailua Beach. There is a beach park, a restaurant across the street for lunch and some of the most beautiful scenery ever. This is also very close to the famous LaniKai, one of the most scenic places in Hawaii. Alanscruise Posted June 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2009 PS-If you don't already have the The Bus guide, you must get one. It tells you how to get to various places on The Bus. You can pick one up at any ABC store in Waikiki.
Squaretop Posted June 29, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 29, 2009 Thanks for the input! I'll look into more info on The Bus. I'll need schedules, etc. especially if I go by myself. I don't want the rest of the group to think I'm MIA.
