ashley@cruisecritic Posted June 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2009 Political unrest has been mounting in Honduras since Sunday, when the country's president was reportedly ousted from office. Although lines have said the situation has not yet impacted their itineraries, we're keeping an eye on it and will update you if anything changes. Thanks, ~Ashley :)
melissa@cruisecritic Posted June 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2009 A follow-up to Ashley's post from yesterday: We've been in touch with Carnival and, so far, cruises are expected to call on Roatan as planned. A note from our spokesman at the line: "Our local contacts on the island are advising us that there are currently no issues in Roatan. We are monitoring the situation and keeping in touch with authorities there, however, at this time we are anticipating that we will be able to call in Roatan later this week as scheduled." Aplmac Posted June 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2009 I'm thinking there's a huge difference between what goes on on the offshore islands -and mainland Honduras and maybe that should be taken into account, here? .
