Tofutti Posted July 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2009 Does anyone know if price drops occur with a new ship? or do they generally fill up so Carnival doesn't have to drop prices?
TakeMeAway1001 Posted July 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2009 Does anyone know if price drops occur with a new ship? or do they generally fill up so Carnival doesn't have to drop prices? I am not sure of the answer but we are cruising the week before you and mine has steadily increased since we booked. I am hoping for a price drop but not holding my breath on it :)
okgirl Posted July 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2009 Most Carnival ships fill up not just the new ones, but I have received 2 price drops on the ES fare for the 12/3 sailing but recently the prices have started going up.
sports-mom Posted July 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2009 I'm waiting for a dream price drop as well.. but I dont think i'll find anything lower than what we paid. (I guess we got it at the right time?)
mom2tcdx2 Posted July 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2009 I think we booked the Dream back in April or May (I think) price has increased twice since we booked, both times out category went up $50. I don't imagine that if it should drop, it will only go back down to what we paid, I am thinking it won't drop below what we paid.
js Posted July 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2009 Not sure either but also wanted to add that we are booked for August 7, 2010 and our balcony and inside both went up $50 per person, so $200 in total for us so far. We booked quite a while ago.
Tofutti Posted July 9, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted July 9, 2009 Thanks for all the replies. We booked in early June and yes, it's increased since then also. I'll just keep my fingers and toes crossed for a drop later on.
