Hi

I have booked 3 RCCL cruises through an agent and have not had any problems. Did phone RCCL once regarding change of airport from Gatwick to Heathrow and they gave us £100 each on board credit because of having to stay in a hotel overnight at Heathrow.

I just go for the lower price:D

RCCL will not talk to you if you use a TA. That includes if you happen to see a price drop at 10 pm friday night and your TA isn't in the office till monday morning.

Be very careful about a TA that quotes a price less than RCI, as RCI does not allow TA's to cut prices. The only way a TA can legitimetly be less than RCI's web site is if the TA has purchased a "group" and is giving you the group rate. Your services on board will be exactly the same as if you booked direct. The only reason I use a TA is that she always gives me OBC.

RCI UK will not talk to you if you want to do anything minor to your booking such as change dining time, make it twin beds instead of a queen, change table size, discuss costings etc......

Make sure your TA wil honour any pricedrops in full, without any penalty charges (and I'd get it writing too...!) and make sure you are not part of a group allocation because you can not have anything 'different' to the rest of the group - ie: you cannot prepay grats if the group has not and vice versa

39August - TAs in the UK can and do cut prices because they are paid up commission and they can reduce the prices by giving back some of their commission.
