Travel_Maven Posted July 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2009 My husband and I will be returning a car to the Anchorage airport on the day of our cruise departure. Does anyone know if we can pick-up a Princess shuttle from the airport to the Whittier dock for our Princess Cruise departure at 8:30pm?

Does anyone know if we can pick-up a Princess shuttle from the airport to the Whittier dock for our Princess Cruise departure at 8:30pm? I would imagine you can take the Princess shuttle too but..... Why not drop you and the luggage at the train station downtown and have DH catch a cab downtown and take the train to Whittier. It leaves at 10:00 am and pulls up right next to the ship. You won't see your luggage again until you get to your cabin. It is a beautiful 2 hour 30 minute ride. :)
tsullaz Posted July 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2009 Yes, go to the Princess desk near the Alaska Airlines baggage claim area. They will put you on a motor coach to Whitter for $55 each. The view is the same as on the train, but less expensive and quicker. Tsullaz
mmm4763 Posted July 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2009 You can also book an independent transfer if you are comfortable doing so. I have seen them for $40-$45 (also booked one myself) and some will pick you up wherever in Anchorage that you need.
VibeGuy Posted July 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2009 If it's an Avis car, ask them what they'd charge to drop it in Whittier; it's a beautiful drive and you can do it at your leisure. Might be cheaper. . .
