Hotel day pass in San Juan

Many moons ago (I think 1984), while on a Cunard cruise, the ship arranged for a respite at the Carib Hilton. We had all hotel privileges, changing and shower facilities, and a buffet setup. We were transported there and when it was time to go to the airport we got another lift. It worked very well. Don't know if they still do anything like that anymore. If they don't another hotel might.

Also, many moons ago, Mar 90, Royal Princess Panama Canal cruise, Princess "put us up" in a hotel with use of lockers/changing rooms, and swimming pools, after disembarkation in San Juan, before transferring us to the airport for flights home.

Last year after getting off the CB repo cruise in the fall, we did a day pass at the Courtyard by Marriott in Isla Verde. I believe it cost $90 for a hotel room and use of the facilities. Beautiful beach and pool.

Do you remember how far was that from the ship?

It really wasn't that far..................15 minutes, maybe. The best part, it's very close to the airport which makes for a quick ride to catch your flight.

They had various restaurants, ice cream, casino, outside bar/food. Room was clean. There were 6 of us sharing the room for the day (they only allow 4 but since we were all "older" adults - guess they made an exception). We even received coupons for free drinks. They wouldn't take a reservation. I just called from the ship when we docked (make sure you have the local phone number and not the toll free one). Worked out just great. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sjuiv-courtyard-isla-verde-beach-resort/
