JBDigitalphoto Posted July 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2009 Does anyone know is there anywhere near the port of Miami to purchase water and soda? We are flying in and don't want the expense of checking it on the plane.
JohninDC Posted July 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2009 Easiest solution is to ask your cab driver to stop on the way to POM. Understand that this detour and waiting time will cost you on top of the flat rate fare of $24 + tip from MIA to POM; you should discuss this additional cost with the driver before you get into the cab. Good luck!:)
JBDigitalphoto Posted July 15, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted July 15, 2009 We are trying to avoid extra fees from the cab that is why we were hoping there is something within walking distance at the port
JohninDC Posted July 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2009 That would be a very long and unsafe walk - spend $5-10 with the cab and get your supplies on the way. Good luck!:)
eandj Posted July 16, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2009 The Miami Port is located off the "mainland" of Downtown Miami. Either stop, like John said, on the way or check in and cab it to a store. Cheaper stopping on the way. There is NOTHING at the port as far as stores. Altho downtown is near the port, becasue of its location, it's a tough walk thru heavy traffic and industrial area. Especially if you're carrying lots of bottles of water etc. The money you'll save buying ahead will easily be greater than a cab stop. ;)
