Do paid cruises count if you don't show up?

Does anyone know if you still get "credit" for a cruise towards elite status if you miss the cruise at the last minute without any refund/credit from Princess?

 

One way to look at it is: you paid for the trip, you should still get the credit. Of course there are other views too. How does Princess handle this?

When I cancelled a couple of years ago within the 100% penalty time I was credited with the cruise even though I got 90% of the fare back from the Princess gold insurance. Tom.

Thanks for the answer. Hopefully I'll never be in that situation, but it's nice to know as a fall-back situation.

It's never happened to us, thank goodness. But my understanding is if you don't sail on the ship, you don't get the credit for the cruise, even if you forfeited 100% of the cruise fare.

In almost every case, the Airlines and Cruise Lines treat this situation identically.

If you don't make the flight/cruise, you don't receive the credit.

I am pretty sure you have to complete the cruise in order to get the credit,you can call and ask tho:rolleyes:

Unfortunately, I have had this happen twice. In both cases, no credit. You have to actually take the cruise to get the credit.

We took a cruise in 2003 but had to leave it a few days early due to illness. They credited both of us with it even though we were not there for the last half.
