Silversea Guest Care program

Does anyone have experience with the subject program. How good is it? Any testimonials of claims experience, etc.? We have normally used CSA for cruise insurance, but their price is higher than SS coverage in our age group. We do not have any pre-existing conditions. Not interested in other insurance recommendations. We also have MedJetAssist coverage. Thanks in advance.

I always think it's risky to buy travel insurance from the cruise line itself. If they go under so does the insurance protection. Check out a site called insuremytrip.com where you can compare the benefits and rates of several companies.

Doug, we have always used the SS Guest Care and, thankfully, have never needed to file a claim. Last year I spent a lot of time and effort researching other plans prior to a long cruise and found none better. It is particularly strong in the area of pre-existing conditions, since the waiver applies as long as you buy the insurance at or before the final cruise payment. The other plans tend to offer the waiver only if you buy the insurance within a couple of weeks of your initial booking. That said, if there are better plans which are more economical, I would love to hear about them.

We have been using CSA Web Direct and pre-existing conditions are covered if paid by final payment. We don't have any but worried about non traveling family members not traveling with us as the pre-existing would allow you to travel home or cancel if something happened. This policy has been one of the least expensive ones also and has trip interuption at 150% . Try Squaremouth.com. We have gone through them twice.

We had a claim for an onboard medical visit and it was paid immediately after receiving the denial from our reg insurance.
