Shareholder credit?

If you buy 100 shares of CCL, does the shareholder credit only apply to carnival cruises? Since carnival owns princess, holland america etc just wondering if the shareholder credit would apply to the sister cruise lines.

If you have 100 shares of Carnival stock, the credit will be good on any of the lines that Carnival owns. (Holland America, Princess, Costa, etc!)

Just bought my 100 shares yesterday in the DH 401k. Looking forward to getting the OBC.

 

According to the Carnival website, it cannot be applied towards your tips or casino spending though. It can be used for shopping, drinks and excursions.

 

Can't wait to get another cruise booked now.

That is so great that it can be used on several cruise lines. I just wish I had bought it back when it was around $15 per share. Now I'm waiting & watching, I'll buy eventually but likely not in time to use OBC on the cruise coming up.

How much OBC per share do you get?

$50 - 6 day cruises or less

 

$100 - 7 - 13 day cruises

 

$250 - 14 day cruises

 

With the current stock price, getting a $100 OBC is equivalent to being paid a 4% dividend. That's if you only use it once a year. I don't see anything on the Carnival website that limits you to using it only once a year. If you book a 14 day cruise for the larger OBC, that's about a 10% dividend on your stock! Well worth it!

Despite what the website says regarding tips, It will appear as a OBC for certain and since tips are automatically added to your sail and sign, the OBC will be used against those tip charges....

Last cruise I went on the OBC was on my account when I boarded and so were the tips. The balance was $30 credit. They apply your OBC against any charges on your account, including tips.
