Barcelona Taxi or Metro for single person

Would it be safer to take taxi from airport to hotel (I am staying at Hotel Colon) or to take a bus, I am single person with 2 pieces of luggage and don't want to "lug" the bags around streets coming off a bus. Please advise

I do not think safety is the issue since either public transit or a taxi is safe. But, taking a taxi is a lot more convenient and much faster. For the airport bus you will most likely have to wait and than you still have to drag your luggage from bus to hotel. Personally, we always just take a taxi since its fast and only costs about 25 - 30 Euros. By the way, we love the Hotel Colon and it has always been our home when in Barcelona. We prefer the rooms that face the Cathedral, but some do complain that it is a bit noisy on that side from street noise and the cafe/restaurant on the sidewalk below.

thanks. I agree; I don't like dragging luggage around in an airport, let alone in a big city. I don't mind the noise, I don't have to get up early the next day.
