Sea days on Journey

Hi,

Does Azamara (Journey) coordinate any activities on sea days? I've heard they host lectures/seminars but that's all I'm aware of. Any wine tastings, dance lessons, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

On sea days on Quest there were computer courses, various talks, culinary demos, fitness seminars, name that tune and other quiz. Scavenger hunt poolside, most of the competitors being the few children on board! Line dancing, bridge, wine tasting (a fee for this), various talks about making a scrapbook, origami and tying knots (!). We preferred relaxing on a sunbed reading and watching the sea pass by so can't say how many people took part in any of the above. We did go to the gym and did the odd quiz or two.

We haven't yet cruised on the Journey but have travelled twice on the Quest, both times we had a lot of sea days (Transatlantic & Singapore-Athens), and there were always plenty of activities to keep us occupied.

There were wine tasting/wine pairing classes in Prime C (nominal charge but well worth it),language classes, singing classes, dance classes(with the lovely, talented Mary Amanda who was also the harpist) craft classes (origami, jewellery making etc.), cocktail making and cookery demonstrations,,computer/IT classes ,bridge classes etc etc (too many to remember).

On the TA crossing we had lots of fun (and made some very good friends) at the Battle of the Sexes quiz - we didn't have this on Singapore-Athens(we asked but were told that as so many people would have taken part before they would know all the answers !!) but there seemed to be a quiz of some type (we especially enjoyed the music quizzes with Jim Badger) taking place every hour for most of the day.We had so many quizzes that towards the end of the cruise the activities staff had run out of questions and some passengers were volunteering & compiling their own !!

There were also exercise classes, yoga, pilates etc and a Wii in the Looking glass lounge.

There were daily early evening "quiz shows" such as "Liars Club", "What's My Line", "Newly Weds" quiz..... We never had time to go to these but they were recorded and could be seen on in-room TV system (as could the lectures, port briefings and more).

Have a wonderful cruise....
