We are sailing the Emerald Princess in November. I'm thinking of flying in the day before and was wondering if anyone can recommend a reasonably priced hotel to stay the night.

Thank you!

Try Hyatt Place (the old Amerisuites) near the port with transportation from airport and to port.

Last year we stayed at Holiday Inn express near the cruise terminal with transportation to the cruise terminal. It was nice and clean and alot of cruise folks were coming and going but someone said the Hampton Inn near the cruise terminal is better so we are trying it this time. Hopes this helps!

We have stayed at the Sleep Inn in Dania, FL the last two times. The place is nothing fancy but clean and friendly and comfortable. Free breakfast and free transportation to the port and from the airport. It is located within a short walk to Walgreens, Liquor store, restaurants and grocery. You can't beat it! Good Luck!

Too far away. She can stay on 17th St. for the same price and have all the stores and restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance.

Definately try PriceLine....We bid online thru Priceline and won the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale. We are cruising on the Emerald Princess on Oct 25th, and will be in Fort Lauderdale the day before. We Paid only $59 + Tax for this hotel which normally sells for over $199 + per night. This is a 4 Star hotel and a very short distance from the Pier and close to the Airport as well. When Bidding we Selected #2 Downtown Area and 4 Star.

Good Luck in your bidding and enjoy your cruise.

We are doing the Holiday Inn Express, free breakfast and 0.1 mile to the port. Shuttle from the airport to the hotel so that is good. If you go on google earth and put in the port of Ft. Lauderdale and also hotels you will see what is nearby. We will be on a cruise on the Emerald in nov. as well.

You put your decimal in the wrong place. :D

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and agree that it is a good place to stay, but the last three years we have stayed at the Hyatt Place at 1851 SE Tenth Street The place is lovely nice large rooms buffet breakfast, shuttle service and very convenient to restaurants, grocery store, liquor stores and transportation. For the money you can't go wrong staying there. Go to ValueTrips.com and you should get a good deal.

Hampton Inn Plantation gets our vote. Free transportation to and from airport and port or to anywhere in the area, A GREAT staff, free hot breakfast, walk across the parking lot to a huge Mall with all the major stores. Very clean and a very nice pool with hot tub. You won't be sorry. We have stayed here many times. :)

Hampton Inn - Plantation, free shuttle to the pier and they will pick you up at the airport. Also restaurants and shopping within walking distance. This is my choice everytime I'm in florida! Best beds!!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express - clean, friendly and helpful staff, full breakfast in the morning, and walking distance to strip mall with grocery store and liquor store. We would stay there again.

Actually, SouthPaw's decimal was in the right place. The hotel is a block away from the port entrance, therefore 0.1 miles.

You are saying that the Holiday Inn Express is one block from the entrance? If so, where would you put the Renaissance?

The Ren is about one block away Arlene, according to the maps and my recollection. It is actually closer than the HE.SIZE]

We will be staying at the Renaissance which is on 17th Street and just a short cab ride to the port. Shopping and restaurants are within very short walking distance.

If you are docked at pier 2/4, you are closer than a cab ride. I believe there is a $10 minimum charge to take you from the hotel to the pier, because it's really just across the street. A few years ago we walked ourselves into the port from the Renaissance.
