Sometime in the distant future we are planning to take one of these cruise tours in Eqypt: Trafalgar Wonders of Ancient Egypt or Insight Spendours of Egypt. Each tour has essentially the similar tours, seven nights on the riverboat and uses the same riverboats:MS Miriam or MS Giselle. Does anyone have any additional information on which we can base a decision??

Thank you for your help.

These two boats are owned by Egypt Hotels. Trafalger and insight rent cabins on them. Trafalger is not Uniworld. Uniworld will have its own boat on the Nile starting this fall. The Giselle is an older boat with no elevator and 3 decks with cabins and restaurant in "basement". Food very Middle Eastern. Wine is Egyptian and only from that country. Stick with the Egyptian beer, very good.

Cabins nice, beds very hard. Never drink water unless bottled. Be sure to bring something stronger than Pepto. The country is glorious in its history. Pat

Trafalgar and Insight are both owned by the same company that owns Uniworld.

Trafalgar is not selling Uniworld anymore. It looks like Insight still is though.

They are selling the new River Tosca, under the tour headings of "Elegance of Egypt", "Elegance of the Nile", and "Elegance of the Pharohs".

Their other Egypt tours do not appear to be Uniworld products.

One option for you, if you want a Uniworld cruise on River Tosca, is to book it through Uniworld direct instaed of through a 3rd party.

Actually, Trafalgar Canada is still working with Uniworld, although Trafalgar US has separated. Sands28 - not sure where you are from...

That being said - not sure if they are still doing Egypt with Uniworld, or working with another group. The Trafalgar Canada website has mostly European River Cruises for 2010 on their site.
