Ship Time vs Port Time - Pearl Eastern Caribbean

On Carnival, at least when leaving from east coast ports, the ship always stays on Eastern time, regardless of the time zone in the ports. Is NCL the same way, or does ship time change with the actual time zones? We'll be on Pearl in the eastern Caribbean in October.

Sorry, that is wrong. Most of the eastern Caribbean is on Atlantic time, one hour ahead of eastern time. The situation is further complicated by some islands observing Daylight Savings Time and some not. For example, Puerto Rico does not, so at this time of the year their time is identical to eastern, but in the winter they will be an hour ahead of eastern time.

 

 

As to the OP's question...the answer is "it depends". Most of the time you can expect NCL to be on local time, but there are instances when that is not the case. They will let you know. You'll usually get a notice placed on your bed at turn down, and the Freestyle Daily will also carry that information.

Sorry I have been to the Bahamas and just got back from Bonaire and everything was the same time as us so I assumed everything in between these islands was all eastern time zone

Bonaire is one of the islands that does not observe Daylight Savings Time, so at this time of the year it is the same as EDT. In the winter it will be an hour ahead.
