flagger Posted August 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Both are 20K points for the weekend we are going. We have stayed at the Residence before, but wonder about the Courtyard. We honestly just need a clean place to lay our head before we board Freedom of the Seas. Hot breakfast is nice, but not necessary. We are paying to park at the port though so we can get in our car to go. If you had to choose one hotel on Cocoa Beach, which one would you. Rare crewsweeper Posted August 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Maybe Preston or Shirley can opine on latest room conditions. But IMO, the Residence is closer to the cruise terminal by far than the Courtyard, if that has any bearing on your decision.
megr1125 Posted August 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2009 points being the same, take the RI for the breakfast...............the CY you get a room, the RI feeds you and gives you some more space.... being a Marriott Plat Premier i always want the best value for my points!;) free and food are 2 of my favorite words! the RI was built in 2004...the CY in 2001 (and it says nothing about recent renovations...IMO it would be past due to be redone but again, not sure-just going by what it says on marriott.com under room details on the booking screens) thus, newer wins too! flagger Posted August 10, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted August 10, 2009 All things being equal, we went for the RI for the points and will pay to park at PC. We have a long seven hour drive home then to get back to school the next day for my DD, so I don't want to wait around for a shuttle. Just a bag each and a carry-on for us and we are out of there.
