cruzn single Posted September 25, 2010 #26 Share Posted September 25, 2010 We were on the MS Ryndam in May (after dry-dock). Still the wonderful ship on which we sailed in 2002! Have added Canaletto restaurant, carpets looked great, changed the bar area on the other side from the Casino (think it is now called The Mix). Food was very good, and staff was great! Our cabin appointments were much the same, but all new bedding, etc. Not sure what there is to whine about! All cruise ships can show signs of wear considering the amount of usage! We certainly did not feel that there was anything to complain about and don't see why MS Ryndam keeps getting a bad rap. All ships have numerous dry-dock periods during their useful life! CowPrincess Posted September 25, 2010 #27 Share Posted September 25, 2010 was in drydock I think in February. Did they do any refurbishings? Obvious ones to me: new bathroom vanities, tiles, flooring, new soft goods in cabins (sofas, bed accents, drapes), new carpeting in cabins and public areas. The new "Mix" area. Can't remember if there were new chairs in the MDR, and did not attend anything in the showroom. No idea about the mechanical stuff, but I'm pretty certain she got mechanical work done. m steve Posted September 26, 2010 #28 Share Posted September 26, 2010 The ship by most reports is great and is a favorite to many. I look forward to sailing on her in Nov. The question is more like "when did you stop beating your wife?"
