Walking Tour of Lahaina

I would like to know if anyone has taken a walking tour of Lahaina booked through the ship or done it on your own. I spent a week on Maui some 20 years ago and spent one day walking about Lahaina and, as I recall, most of the places mentioned in the ship tour itinerary were easily accessible on your own. I can't imagine that much has changed in those intervening years.

It's a very small town -- you can do it on your own.

I have never taken the excursion through the ship. Have visited many times and there were always shuttle buses to places like Hilo Hatties and such, and everything is very easy to access on your own if you would like, just as you remember it. ;)

We did the ship sponsored walking tour. Yes, it is very doable on your own, but the local guide is a mine of information and stores. Well worth it. EM

We have been to Maui 3 times. Once we just walked around town, the last time we stopped into the museum and the have a map for a self guided tour. They also have tours available with a guide. Both ways work
