cruisemom101 Posted August 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Trying to decide between the 7-day Carnival Dream or the 8- Day Carnival Freedom.........Help! Any suggestions?
JessicaRN Posted August 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Freedom was awesome, one of our favs. John Heald was also our CD, so that probably added to our fun. If given the choice between similar itineraries (ie: deciding only on ship), I would say the Dream, just to sail on the newest and best. :)

It was a great ship, but I would go with the Dream.
falconfan Posted August 23, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Trying to decide between the 7-day Carnival Dream or the 8- Day Carnival Freedom.........Help! Any suggestions? If you are going Eastern Caribbean then it depends on if you like a port intesive cruise (Freedom) or more sea days (Dream).
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Whichever one you choose, the other will be waiting for the next time! Choose by price and itinerary. Dream may be more expensive because of interest in sailing the newest ship...EM

Marque Posted August 25, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2009 My wife and I have enjoyed the Freedom several time, including a transatlantic last year. We are looking forward to a transatlantic on the Dream later this year. I would let the ports or number of sea days dictate the trip.

But after a few days, you kind of get use to it. I think it's the ports and number of days at sea that make a cruise. We picked the Freedom Eastern itinerary for just that reason. aubreysmom Posted August 25, 2009 #9 Share Posted August 25, 2009 We just did the 8 day Freedom Eastern cruise in May. It was probably my favorite cruise so far. We loved all of the ports and would gladly do it again. There are just so many things to see and do. With that being said, we have booked the Dream for next May. :) Maybe you should do both - LOL :D I think you will have a grand time whatever you pick. Let us know when you decide. Good luck! cruisemom101 Posted August 25, 2009 Author #10 Share Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks....we're leaning towards the Dream mainly because my DH, and both DS prefer sea days. I'm the only true port lover....I think my kids will like the newer ship too. Thanks for the advice!!
mrpayroll Posted August 25, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 25, 2009 Was deciding between the two also and decided to go with the Dream while it is still new. (Jan 23, 2010) Will go with Freedom next time. Never been on a new ship..;)

ladycaveat Posted August 25, 2009 #13 Share Posted August 25, 2009 Don't know when you will be cruising but I'll be leaving on the 5th for Ft. Laudrerdale for my cruise on the Freedom on the 6th. Then in January I'll be cruising on the Dream. I'll let you know how I feel about each upon my return. Of course by then, you will probably already have made your reservations. I booked the Dream last January when I returned from my last cruise and . . . couldn't wait . . . booked my Freedom cruise in March. :p
