Free shuttle service from San Pedro to LAX?

I'm reading the ports of call info on cruisecritics and it mentions:

 

"Free shuttle buses are provided to and from the terminal on scheduled ship days."

 

I'm abit confused, do they mean a shuttle that goes "around within" the san pedro cruise port beacuse the cruise ships are far and apart? Or does it go to LAX?

 

If so, how does it work? What is their schedule?

 

Does anyone know where I can get more details?

The only free shuttle I know of will take passenger from the parking lot under the bridge and bring them to the ships. I am sure that shuttle just keeps running in a loop with no schedule ...

As Cuizer says, there's a shuttle bus that circles around the parking lot at the port. What many people do is drive up to their berth (there will be a sign listing all the cruiseships there that day, but you'll be able to see them even before you enter the World Cruise Center), drop off their passengers and luggage, then drive down to the parking lot and park. Often you'll be close enough to walk back up, but if not, you can jump on the free shuttle.

 

There's no free shuttles that take you between LAX and the port. Too far.

In miles I don't know but timewise about 45 to 60 mins depending upon traffic and if there is an accident on the freeway, well......

In SoCal we don't talk in terms of distance but in time.

 

It is never a mile away but 5 minutes away. Almost always driving time.
