Lobster Rolls? Popovers? Digby Clams?

I keep seeing posts about lobster rolls, popovers, and Digby Clams. Can someone please tell me what these are? I'm guessing that Digby clams might be bigger than the dime sized clams we see on the Gulf Coast, but is there a different taste?

I don't know about Digby clams, but can tell you I've never had scallops as good as the ones in Digby.

I ate popovers at Jordan's Pond restaurant in Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor). It was a kind of bread. It's a kind of a fluffy bread forming a "bubble".... hard to explain but it can be eaten with jelly, butter and/or with soup, etc.

Lobster Rolls are hot dog buns filled with lobster salad, Popovers are very similar to Yorkshire puddings (Roast Beef), Digby Clams steamed or dipped in batter and deep fried!

My bad. I threw Digby "Clams" into my question at the last minute and must have been having a senior moment. I meant to ask about Digby Scallops!

In some places a lobster roll is served on a homemade bun. In season (summer?), McDonalds do a good lobster roll in Nova Scotia.

 

Digby scallops are world famous, but any scallops fresh caught in Nova Scotia will be fabulous.

I grew up in the NE and lived on lobster rolls in a hot dog bun -never had them any other way. Once a few years ago i went theu maine with a friend and ate my way in lobster and good Chinese.

Where is the least expensive places to get lobster? Nothing fancy. Just was lobster I can eat on location.

It's the scallops that Digby is famous for .... there are none better....and this is from a guy on the west coast of Canada who has been to Digby and eaten them.:)

The least expensive way to get lobster is go to a supermarket. They generally have them live and cooked, or cooked to order.
