Yes or no? Soda allowed to be brought on ship in obvious ways?

Recommended Posts

I am going on Navigator in a couple of weeks, and from what I read, can I take a rolling cooler full of soda as carry on in sight of all Royal employees while boarding? I know people have done it, but is it allowed?

Hi,
I emailed RCCL before my last 3 cruises to find out if I could bring soda, water and snacks.
I received 3 emails back from them telling me I could bring all the soda, water and snacks aboard their ships that I wanted to. I also buy it when we hit ports and carry it back on board with no problem.
The email address I use is web_reservations@rccl.com
Give them your booking number, your sailing date and the ship you are sailing. They will get back to you in 1 - 3 days with an answer. If they don't, just re send your email.

I've never brought that much at one time, but have carried 2 6 packs in plain sight and restocked at the various ports we've been in. Never had a problem.

A bad day cruising is better than a good day at work.

The worst cruise I ever took was pretty damned good.

I carried 5 750ml bottles of San Pellegrino sparkling mineral water with me on my Vision cruise last December. I'm gonna check in when I get to Serenade, then take a cab someplace nearby to get a couple of 2-liter bottles of soda. They shouldn't have any problem with it.

Yes, and also had no problems being wine onboard. Hardstuff and beer is where the money is at and that is why the restrictions.

On EOS last year, while boarding, I carried on a 12 pack of diet pepsi, my husband a 12 pack of 7-up and my son a 12 pack of root beer in plain sight. No one said a word. However, when boarding in Jamaica, they did take my bottle of rum away that was in my carryon bag when it was noticed in the xray machine! It showed up in our room the last day of the cruise.

Every family member carried a case in plain sight. In fact employees held some of them while we took the first Royal Caribbean picture upon boarding the ship. Many other families boarding Rhapsody had their soda with them also.

I had no problem bringing on 12 Pepsi that was in plain sight. I had it strapped onto my carry on luggage without a bag around the Pepsi.

One person did comment that I was be a pepsifinatic to bring on my own. I told him it was a morning this and I did not want to rush around a ship trying to get a pop at 7:00 a.m. Don't get me wrong, I still purchase 2 soda cards for myself and DH and fountain coke is okay after a pepsi or two.

I say don't worry about bringing on your fav beverage and make sure you take enough.

That was one of my ques. to rccl. Last cruise we each carried bottled water, few cans soda, the non breakable bottles of rum or vodka and cans beer. Both in carry on and in luggage. We bring a collapsible cooler, each day room steward fills w/ ice. Drinks are icey cold for excursions and late at night or whenever. They leave that as a gray area. The person I spoke with said she did w/out problem.

I do not drink things with sugar or aspartame ( bad for you), so I bring soda or ice tea mix made with Splenda.
