What do you do on your turnaround day on a B2B?

Still new to this! What do recommend we do on our day when our first cruise ends and second cruise is loading? Wondering what the options are.....

We always go to the MDR and have a long, leisurely breakfast. Sit somewhere out of the way, but where we can watch the debark process. Then, after the b2b picture and usually a couple complementary drinks, we head upstairs to Lido to break the crust on the buffet.:D

It's a lot of fun!

You can either enjoy the fairly empty ship or spend time in the port city with the freedom to just pass by all the people waiting in lines when you get back to the ship and just walk on. You'll get a pass for that. Consider it another port day.

Breakfast in the MDR, then we spent time in the designated waiting area. Walked off cleared customs walked on, photo with other B2Bers. As we were walking up the gangway the bridal parties were right behind us. Diamonds right behind them.

I've never done a B2B, but I've put some thought into it! After a week on the ship, I think I would want to get off and explore the port for a while. I would arrange a tour of some kind, since we don't drive. Take my time getting off the ship, though, not early with all the departing cruisers. I would want to make sure that I could get back on without having to go through the long line of newly arriving cruisers Although, if I took a long enough tour, the majority of cruisers would be onboard already.

Ideally, if I was taking two cruises in a row, I would pick one that left the next day, not the same day, and on a different ship. Is that still a B2B? Or is it a side to side?

We usually take advantage of the time to go around in port. No luggage and carry-on to worry about like what we do in itinerary port.

It is a good day to lie on a lounger and do nothing. Or time to do laundry.

It's a B2B in a different form you however would have to wait in line with others because you are on a different ship. If you are doing a B2B on the same ship and typically leaving the same day you could bypass all lines

Depends on what port the ship is in. Depends if I'm remaining in my original cabin or moving to a new one. In MIA or FLL, I've stayed on the ship and enjoyed some alone time. In SJU, I went to the beach.

I'll let you know in about 256 days! My plan for my first B2B is to relax and get a good spot to watch the arrival of the new passengers, like maybe the orange chairs on deck 11 overlooking the pool (Vista).

The boarding process (getting from the hotel/airport to the ship, having all the documents ready, wondering if my luggage will make it ok, unpacking etc.) can be tiring. I am looking forward to just being relaxed on that day.

I'm also excited to see how the atmosphere is different from week to week.

Once back aboard, if the ship needs to get to a zero count, I'll take my book that I have yet to finish reading, return to my favorite quiet lounge, and enjoy watching my new ship mates come through "ohing and ahing".

On a Carnival ship where embarkation leads to the Atrium Bar area, finding a seat opposite to where the new guests are embarking can provide a very interesting "people watching" opportunity while enjoying an adult beverage(s) of your choice.

We did a B2B out of Jacksonville. Never even had to get off the ship. The customs person came onboard, looked over the paper work of about 20 of us, then the staff member had our new S&S cards, gave them to us and said, enjoy the next 5 days!

We found a good spot on embarkation deck and (as someone else said) watched people getting on. You could tell the rookies from the old-timers. We think it's fun.

Another fun thing is to see the staff look at you funny the second time around, because they think they recognize you, but aren't always sure.

The CD recognized us, and talked to us and we ended up getting a couple of extra things we probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

I'd do it again. Maybe not two 7 day'ers, but definitely two 5 day'ers for sure. You get more cruise bang for the flight buck (flight costs the same but you get more days as sea.

It is totally up to customs. Sometimes they make you walk off, sometimes not. I wouldn't begin to guess the variables that go into that decision.

unfortunately, you can not do this. B2B is done as a group. you will have note in your cabin explaining the B2B procedure. The last 2 years we did B2B on the Dream we stayed on the ship and the customs agents were in the showroom. On the Magic we briefly got off the ship, quick customs , new S&S and back on board. There is one eerie hour, about 10:30-11:30. All the bars are closed and no food. We just went up to the Serenity area and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Yes, you can. If you want to get off early, you have to go thru customs like the other passengers and when you return, you can by pass the long check in lines to get your new S&S card. ( with the intransit card you will have received the night before ). If you wait until all the B2B's have cleared customs and received your new S&S card, you just get off afterwards and when you return, you show your intransit card and pass by everyone.

Does anyone know if it is possible to do laundry that morning or as they are starting embarkation if you are doing a B2B? We are doing our first in Feb 2018 on the Glory and since we have to fly in I would like to be able to do laundry that morning while it is quiet if possible

Miami is not a port you can just get off the ship and walk around. You would have to take a taxi to get out of the port area.

I have done two B2B both on the Pride. We received a letter in the cabin the last night of the first cruise telling us to meet in front of the Customer Service Desk at 10:00 a.m. Since we were not in the same cabin but only 5 cabins away our cabin steward told us to leave our clothes on hangers and place everything else in the suitcases and he moved everything for us to the new cabin. We were escorted off the ship by a crew member to go through customs than right back on. We took pictures and were offered a free drink or two while we waited for the new guests to arrive. It was fun people watching. Later that night we received a free copy of the picture. I can't wait to do another B2B.

I asked this in a different thread and was told no, but haven't observed it for sure. Will check on our B2B Magic cruise in Jan 2018.

That would be great - Worst case scenerio is we did purchase FTTF for the 2nd 1/2 of our B2B because we have 1 or 2 tender ports and we are traveling with friends. which means we should be able to go back to the cabin fairly early and I can start some laundry then while we are waiting for our friends.
