  1. Been to Bermuda 8 times cruising and many other times. Have enjoyed the Summit immensely. We are suite persons, but have enjoyed visiting the other cabins you mention. Top deck aft IMHO is one of the best Aqua cabins available. You do get a lot of sun as there is no canopy, but the A/c always seemed to work fine inside the cabin. IMHO concierge cabins are real a waste of money. For a few dollars more you can go Aqua with their perks. I find cabins mid ship to be of a fair size, but if you don't get one of the sweet sixteen cabins (you can search these cabins to get more information) the balconies are quite small. All in all though the ship is great. Bermuda is great and you will not regret the decision.

    Happy cruising

  2. I noticed the same thing. the frames were there, but no covers.

I would have been pretty frustrated in an RS and not being able to use it, um, as we normally do, in privacy ;)

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

OMG! We are set to sail on the Summit after drydock. Will have to check for canopy on Royal Suite, should have about one week time to cancel if canopy not there. Won't sail if not there. Privacy is a mandate. Willing to try other changes, but definitely won't sail in RS without privacy.

  3. Like you I too am victim to an apparatus. Be sure to keep all documentation you have. IE: Doctors note, apparatus type, lists of medicines any thing else you can think of. In all our travel both airport and cruise line security have been very cooperative to work with. Before going thru the machine you just tell the security agent you need to be checked by hand. They will direct you where to stand and then proceed to clear you. But I was detained once because of my new walker with a seat. That seat has a mesh compartment under it. This for some reason upset the inspector and I was taken to a room at the airport and patted down. Then I was required to give all documentation I had on the walker. I didn't think a walker with an open basket underneath would be suspect, but it was. I was told no documentation or receipt or anything, it will be confiscated. They took the $89.00 walker. I was released. So from then on I always carry paperwork. Was never asked again, but I have an envelope with all the paperwork just in case. That was in Greece. Guess someone needed a walker! They are nice and they definitely beat the hospital kind with the tennis ball. Enjoy your trip, all will be fine.:D

  4. You are spot on! A combo of astrology and winging it is their way of recent! Keep us posted on your experience after your cruise!

Yes, please do keep us posted if possible. Last time on summit, the times were different from the dailies. Somehow lunch was misplaced and Brunch appeared. Have a great cruise!

  5. After dining on two different ships in Luminae I offer the following advise. To have the best experience, do try to make a reservation. We had a standing each night at the same time. We had the same great window table with the same team. They quickly understood our preferences which lead to a great experience. We communicated when we were in a hurry for breakfast leading to a full hot service in and out in less than 30 minutes. On both ships we never had to remind anyone of our suite number more than the first introduction night. We often looked at the main dining room menu to decide what we preferred, lunch and dinner. We understood reservations were not required however we prefer our servers to be the same and to enjoy that type of relationship during the sailing. It worked for us and we had a lovely experience. The food was served hot and it was very good. After 10 of 12 days even the main dining room hot dog was fabulous!! Enjoy!

Did the same, worked great, though our seating preference was more to the left than the right...Had a great time.

  6. Great news-feeling better about it! Another topic but perhaps you can answer regarding excursions. Should we rebook or let the concierge know what we are interested in doing? For example, I haven't found it listed but we are interested in more info on the excursion which allows a catamaran to pick you up directly from the ship in Tracy Arm and brings you to Juneau later. Do you know it?

Thanks for the above info- it's really helpful

    Congratulations on your honeymoon.

We always book in a royal suite and always use our Michaels Club Concierge and our suite Butler for everything. Our Butler for everything on ship and Michaels club Concierge off ship. expect e-mail from Michael''s Club week before leaving. Have a list ready for first night dining, liquor choices for cabin, what liquid you would like kept in refrigerated, any excursions you are interested in and they will arrange everything for you. First afternoon on board you will meet in Michael's club and that time you can confer arrangements with concierge. When allowed to cabin you will meet your Butler. Any meals I arrange thru our Butler. Breakfast in cabin, snacks in pm, luncheon etc. I have found this way We pretty much have our itinerary set and confirmed. No hassles Enjoy!;)

  7. Am very disappointed in the loss of Normandy and the style and era of dining. I am hoping that they don't cram us together causing the loss of privacy to converse during dinner as is such the case in Luminae. Modern to me equates to crowding. More crowding means more people, smaller portions, less service. and bigger profit. Not liking the future of cruising. Not a positive experience for the consumer.:(

  8. Special Dietary Needs

Celebrity Cruises is happy to accommodate many different kinds of dietary needs in our Main Restaurant to enhance your cruise vacation. Once you have booked your cruise, send your special dietary request to special_needs@celebrity.com or call 1-866-592-7225.

Thanks Dan. This thread really works.

  9. We have been on Summit two times June 2016 will be three times. I always bring a highlighter and a few paper clips. I get up, shower order coffee and sit and relax. Then I read the dailies. Highlight my interests, cut out any coupon that interests me and DH and I head out for the planned day. But somewhere along the line, our plans changed because we saw something else and joined in. One thing I will assure you of....You will have a great time no matter what comes your way. Enjoy the cruise.

  10. You must call ASAP because it could have reached capacity already. We were in a R/S on Summit and there was much more room for her but she could not decide if she wanted to go and although the rep warned her you have up to 72 hours before departure but call in in ASAP because of capacity she did not listen called 8 days before departure and just could not go. As for space, I could not handle three passengers in that cabin, many people have no problem because most people don't stay in the cabin. Hopes this helps.

  11. I am so sorry this happened. If you have already purchased your cruise insurance you should be covered. As for compensation, people have not reported very positive results. One couple did book their cruise on board, so they were able to keep the OBC for that but the disappointing news was that the charges had gone up substantially and the insurance did not cover the difference. Hope this works out for you and you are able to get a comparative sailing

  12. Out on deck of Summit just outside of Luminae a woman was having her cigarette. Just out of the blue, she asked me if there are whales out there and if there are do they come close enough to pet them? What could I say, so I answered "probably".

  13. I packed the skirt I was wearing on the last day of the cruise with my seapass card in the pocket of it. Bags were gone the next morning when I realized what I had done. They let me off, of course but I told them they could have solved the problem by letting me stay on!

Oh, I like this one...can always try again, it might work!!

  14. We are devoted to sailing Celebrity. We prefer the M class ships. The S class is much to big for us and seem a bit to impersonal. The M class has a bit larger cabins, by the middle of the cruise all know the staff and they know you. For some reason when the Captain walks over and calls you by name, shaking your hand and instructing you to have a good day, you feel very good about yourself. Everyone is so friendly, the food is plentiful and delicious, The ships are very clean. There still are chair hogs, but my husband just asks the person next to the empty chair if it is taken or do you think it is saved, most people will answer the truth and he will act accordingly. We have been on the Summit 2 times going a third time this June. Excellent service, delicious food, good entertainment, quiet lounges, quite usable library, and plenty of fun things to do. Book your cruise, prices are generally reasonable and you have to watch for the specials, but what a time you will have:D
