  1. I bring my kindle which always has a few unread titles currently working on The Outlander series. I have been known to read at least one book a cruise and start a second. I love grabbing a lounger on a sea day and just read and people watch plus I love to unwind by reading before bed. Also it depends on the ports of its a few beachy stops then I'm sure to get some reading in then as well.

  2. As a solo traveler it is hard find deals I usually book the cabin I want and just keep watching sales for that category and call to get any price reductions. Sometimes you can get a better deal through some of the big box travel agents. There are some unmentionable here websites you can use to keep track of prices.

  3. Thanks Rick it's been great following along all week made me relive my Getaway cruise which was awesome as well and also has me looking forward to more NCL cruises in the future. Doing an 11 day on the Epic in 2019 with about 60 other solo travelers from a FB group. But doing Anthem end of November this year and can't wait to see her again.

  4. I'm fairly loyal to Royal and went on my first NCL cruise this past December since I went on The Norway back in the 90's. I loved the way they run the solo program it was nice to have a group to meet up with for dinner. Also loved the solo cabins they are a bit small but it's nice not to pay a supplement.

  5. Haven't boarded yet, but arrived at the terminal around 9:30 AM. We are visiting Roatan, Harvest Caye, Cozumel and Costa Maya.

Did this itinerary on the Getaway loved it. Little French Key in Roatan was awesome and love The Cozumel Bar Hop and get out early for Harvest Key and you'll have no problem snagging a lounger by the pool. Plenty of servers wandering around to take your drink order. And yes you can take drinks off from the ship so if you want you can grab a couple before you get off the ship as you can't use the UBP at the port ☹️

  6. the bed is a double anyways (same size as in your cabin) and everything is fine. Meet at breakfast in the morning and swap back. Its not a big issue.

The bed is not the same size as what is in a regular cabin it's only a full size. And I don't know why everyone is all up in arms about this. It had probably happened more times than you even know already. I was in a studio in December and never heard a sound from any of the surrounding cabins. And I am no fan of kids just for the record.

  7. There is an access door to the studio rooms that is only accessible if you are in a studio cabin. You would have to ring her cabin so she could let you the access door.

Also there wouldn't be room for a cot but the bed is a full size bed so you're toddler could share the bed with you're mother in law with out them being cramped.

  8. I don't think there are rules against it but the room is very small so it maybe a tight squeeze for babysitting. Not a lot of room for an active toddler. Maybe she cab babysit in your cabin till the baby's bedtime and then go to her cabin when it's bedtime.

  9. One day I decided on a whim to book a cruise for my 21st birthday, and I booked it solo (nobody else could make it). I'm on the NCL Escape, departing June 10th from Miami. I'm excited for sure, but I'm still nervous because I've never travelled alone, gone outside of the country, or been on a cruise. This was a really bold decision for me to make, and I don't regret it, but I am worried there won't be many people my age.On the bright side, I bought the unlimited drinks package so at least I can meet people at the bar, right?

Go to the solo meeting even if you aren't in a solo cabin you will meet some great people young and older. This will also give you some people to meet up with for dinner. And yes you can meet plenty of people at the many bars onboard do the drink tastings those are always fun.

  10. I don't think the experience was anything less than typical solo cruising-- the cabins are nicer than the studios on NCL. It was fine. What exactly have you heard that makes you want to cancel?

I'd like to hear too as I have one scheduled for November 2017. I did sail the Anthem solo for a quick 3 day cruise solo last spring but knew many others that were sailing. So this one in November will be truly solo.
