You have 6 months. Start potty training and then this will be a non-issue.

NCL, MSC and once in a blue moon RC offer kids sail free or 3/4 guests at lower rate.
Never seen such an offer on Carnival.
Lowest rates tend to be last week in September, first week of December, and mid/ late January for all Caribbean cruises.
Good luck.

I know there are websites that I can go to that likely would be updated, but I would like to rely on what are no doubt a lot of cruise critic members from that area to provide me with their best routes, from IAH to Galveston (our route since we are flying into this airport), Hobby to Galveston (others on here are likely flying into Hobby and could use this info), and Dallas to Galveston (my brother and his family are driving from Dallas and I know others may be flying into Dallas and driving down).
You have answered your own question (bolded above). Except for the word "likely", driving map websites and aps ARE updated and will give you the most accurate information.
Enjoy your cruise

Both Windstar and Star Clippers go to most those ports on a regular basis.

We have family in Pearland. They said high water and some without power. Many of their neighbors left yesterday for Austin.

If the port was above water, how would the ships get into the port? Don't the ports dredge to keep the port under water?
No. "port" refers to the entire area where the cruise ships dock and load/ unload. "Port" is the dock, street, and buildings that surround the waterway.
The news is reporting that the Port Of Galveston has significant water blocking parts of it.

I am currently on Liberty of the Seas and we left Cozumel while the Carnival ships stayed in port. Not really giving us much info except we are on the backside of the storm and planning to arrive in Galveston on sunday. I think we will just be sitting off the coast making big circles. We will see.
Well that's interesting considering all the news stations are saying the port is closed until at least Tuesday...
-
People, come on. It's not negative to be realistic.
The Galveston Port was shut down yesterday. Most people in that area are evacuating. The schools are closed, businesses and homes are being boarded and sandbagged....
They are predicting the worst storm in over a decade.
If you cruise on Sunday-which you probably won't-do you even want to?
I love to cruise, but a cruise in the middle of a hurricane does not sound like a good time.
-
Yikes. I'd follow the weather closely before even heading out. You and the ship may not be able to get to Galveston on Sunday. .

About halfway through our RC cruise a few years back we wanted OFF badly!

I know this is an old thread so wanted to update that the price of the bottled water has changed. $4.50 for a 12 pack.

You automatically become a VIFP after your first cruise. No selling involved.
The box is checked because your computer stored it there. If for some reason you want it gone, then browse Carnival on a different browser or delete Cookies. However, often VIFP cruise prices are cheaper so I don't know why you wouldn't want it.

Any cruise we take sans kids is not on Carnival(or any "family-friendly" line).

I am usually not so harsh, but I hope the mother learned a lesson. Unfortunately, the little girl certainly did. Whether the little girl was being supervised or not, standing on chairs on a balcony is so dangerous. They are lucky there was a deck under them, or they may have been planning a funeral instead of a trip to the hospital.
...and the father or other adults who were with this child.

When we did Chefs Table a few years back and the attire was nothing like the photo above. All the men were in suits and the women in more formal attire. I would've been embarrassed in jeans.
It looked more like this random photo I found on Google:

How bizarre, has this ever happened to a kid before? Usually when someone falls over a balcony it's because they are drunk and showing off for friends.
-
1. yes 3 times, great, no
2. same as always, no, no and no
The only small issues I ran into was once I forgot to drink enough water and SWELLED like nothing I'd ever seen. I was also more tired as is typical with pregnancy. Each time I brought nausea medication but it was never needed.
Babymoons are great, have fun.

We always got a table for 2, however the tables are mere inches away from each other so we felt like we were at a table for 8.

Wow, an update a year later?!
Nice! Thanks OP for returning and letting us know what happened.
-
No, I wish they'd make a smaller ship for a more intimate experience.
-
Not sure what cabin numbers being posted/ not posted has to do with anything? Do you all cross the street when a black cat comes near too?
As was mentioned earlier in the thread, every cruise ship has an average of 26 deaths a year.
Everyone of us has stayed in a cabin, hotel or home where either someone has died, been violently ill, been assaulted or done something horribly disgusting. This particular cabin will be cleaned(possibly even remodeled) much better than any of those.
My thoughts go out to the people involved, what a tragedy.

*grabs bag to popcorn and eagerly awaits thread to be full of stereotypes and/or bigotry.

. I would like to pick the nicer cruise, with top notch service and with quality food. .
.
That doesn't describe NCL at all. Take HAL

Thanks for the review.
Child falls 2 stories in ship at port
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Skipped over several posts in this thread because the school debate and putting kids on leashes have nothing to do with anything.
According to this article, she fell 2 stories and the family thinks possibly a crowd of people leaving an elevator had something to do with her falling. Says the family is planning legal action. RIP poor baby :(
(warning: article has possibly triggering photo. Not graphic, but if you are sensitive, you may not want to click)
