My husband would like to fish while we are Belize. Has anyone ever chartered a boat for Reef Fishing? Recommendations? Pros/Cons
Thanks

Just email him and ask...we are doing Ronys custom tour...we choose what to do and where to go.....
He has answered many ????? For me!
I emailed him this morning and he said the guide could take us over to West Bay after we did the park!
I'm still going back and forth about hiring a private guide for the whole day or just picking one of his excursions. We are a family of 5 so things add up quickly! I know we def want to see the monkeys and go to the beach. My husband wants to check out some of the local stores etc. Now that I write all this out we might be better off with a private guild :p

The reef for snorkeling is much closer to shore at Tabyana which will makes access far easier.
If you have a driver the ride may take 7 mins. Or you would walk down the shore line and have him meet you somewhere on West Bay beach.
If we take the #11 From Ronys Tours does that include the beach at the park or at Tabyana? It doesn't really specifiy?

I know we definitely will be going to Gumbalimba to see the monkeys and other animals. I'm just trying to decide which beach we should do after the park. We are all interested in snorkeling and swimming. Would we be better off staying at the park and using their beach or heading down to Tabyana Beach?:confused:

And, of course they aren't overnighting in Nassau, silly! That would mean a closed casino! ;)
I was on the summit that was diverted. The casino opened at 7pm while we were still in port. The summit left Nassau at 10.

We just returned from a cruise in the summit. We had a corner aft room in deck 9 (#9197). The only time I complained about noise was around 6-630 every morning when they moved the chairs around above my head. I heard them 3 mornings but the other mornings I must of been sleeping good and didn't hear them. I enjoyed sitting on my veranda at night with a glass of wine listening to the entertainment from above.

Whoops, for some reason I thought you were in a suite. I'm pretty impressed you fit 5 in a cabin! Wow!
I'm definitely glad we had no firm plans for this cruise, it would definitely have driven me nuts as well!
Happy sailing,
Jenna
We had a corner family veranda. I'll have to post pictures of our room/balcony when i get them uploaded. We had plenty of room!! Two rooms plus the huge balcony - absolutely loved it and I'm so glad we have the same room again!
We didn't have any "firm" plans. We did have a boat rented for 6 hours on Thursday and had major beach plans for Wednesday. With sightseeing and checking out the shops on Friday.

We can only control what we can control. We would have loved to visit Bermuda but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I saw you removed the OBC part of your post. I was simply going to respond about the fact that you're probably right, it may not have been fair but at the same time some people only received $100 and many sailed with the third and fourth person on the cabin free.
Happy sailing,
Jenna
We only received $100 ($20 per person). I removed it because I didn't want anyone to think I wasn't grateful for it because I was. We used it to pay for a little extra time in the fun factory so my husband and I could attend some of the late night adults only shows.
I have a hard time with change. I may have had to take a Xanax after realizing my 6 months of planning was out the window and I had no idea what I was going to do with my kids in our new ports. Thankfully the very nice, helpful and awesome concierge helped me plan a few new things for us in our new ports.
When was our meet & mingle? I kept waiting for a invite in our stateroom or something in the schedule but never saw anything.

Jenna,
First off thanks for starting this thread and taking time out of your vacation to keep us all updated here. I believe Celebrity made the right decision diverting the ship away from Bermuda and that they did a very nice gesture with the refundable OBC (I think the refundable part is pretty cool of them).
I was simply stating my personal opinion (I am entitled to one of those, correct?) that I would be annoyed about going to Florida as opposed to Bermuda. I have been on plenty of ships that have missed/changed ports for various reasons and it has never ruined a trip, and as I said the premium beverage package would sure help smooth over the disappointment of not going to our desired destination.
I was disappointed to visit Florida and the Bahamas, especially since we just got back from there in December.
That being said! We rebooked this cruise and will be sailing to Bermuda the same week and in the same room next year! I figure lightening doesn't normally strike the same place twice. Guess we will find out! But if it does I really don't want to go back to Florida or the Bahamas...lol!

With 3 small children, I would suggest getting a day pass at Melia (formerly Sheraton). It has 3 pools and a very nice beach.
If you want excellent snorkeling, you'll need to take a snorkeling excursion. There's not much in the way of snorkeling from shore in Nassau.
Looks like we are going to Blue Lagoon

We were originally scheduled to dock in Bermuda today. Because of the hurricane we are now docking in Nassau tomorrow. I obviously have nothing planned. We have been to Nassau before so we are slightly familiar with the island. We are looking for a great beach that also has excellent snorkeling. Please give me suggestions with directions to get there. Thank you! I should note we are traveling with 3 kids. The youngest is 5. I also don't have time to search the boards.

Hopefully some good news for those following this system. Models have reverted to the scenario of a few days ago of a farther east track. If correct, this system will move past the eastern Bahamas tomorrow or tomorrow night, then out to sea. Thundershowers not associated with this system may last after the storm moves away. Christobal may move in the vicinity of Bermuda around Tuesday night, so that is something to be watched.
I'm supposed to dock in Bermuda on Wednesday

My guess is not greatly if at all. Most of the models now show any storm to be moving slowly. It has just developed into a tropical depression, and the NWS shows it developing into a hurricane on Tuesday when it will be just to the north east of the Bahamas Tue. afternoon.
The 5 day forecast has it south of Cape Hatteras, over 600 miles West of Bermuda on thurs. afternoon. You leave Bermuda Friday afternoon. Your sea day back to New York might be a bit rough, but the storm should be headed away from you.
Just finished reading the latest info on it. I was so afraid we would be headed to Canada! Lol! Looking forward to my vacation!

I see you're on the Summit, so you're arriving on a Wednesday, with a different ferry schedule than the poster who arrived on a Sunday . By the way, your ship is scheduled to arrive at 8 am Bermuda time according to the official schedule...not that it couldn't arrive earlier. You should be able to catch a 9 am or 9:30 am ferry .
Yep arriving on Wednesday. I know it's a different schedule. But with our earlier arrival time I feel like I can take my time getting off the ship and still have plenty of time to enjoy the beaches.

Thanks!! We get into Bermuda around 7:00am local time. We can take a bit getting off the ship, get our passes and then catch the ferry. Should work out perfectly.

We are a family of five who hadn't counted on paying $16 per person. Can we still take the #7 to Warwick? We have the 3 day transportation pass budgeted in....

I believe that what ever develops, and it may just be a depression, should move north and be more towards bermuda by midweek.
shhhhh.....I'm leaving for Bermuda on Sunday. We are due to dock there on Wednesday!!

We are on the Summit too. I'm planning on doing Horseshoe Bay on Thurs. Last time also we stayed by the dock on Friday. Thanks for the bus schedule.
We have a whaler rented for 6 hours on Thursday :)

Personally, I would stay near the dockyard on Friday. I am not one to press my luck when leaving Bermuda. You never know what could happen.

My thoughts exactly although we went away from the dock while in the Bahamas. But I stressed the entire time.
