Got to the Bermuda board and they can hook you up with some great beaches. Bermuda is probably a lot safer than the Bahama's. Celebrity's kids programs are great, I assume you are going in the summer and there will be loads of kids. Our kids loved Bermuda and Celebrity. Celebrity is a little more formal in dress so you need to watch that but the food is great and Summit is a nice ship.
We are sailing August 24th!
We felt very safe in The Bahamas so we shouldn't have a problem at all in Bermuda.
What do you mean by it's a little more formal (hopefully it's what I think you mean and we won't be seeing people walking around in pajamas and bath robes)? Can we still wear jeans/shorts etc to walk around the ship? How many formal nights are there?

We just booked our first cruise on the Celebrity Summit and will be visiting Bermuda. We have cruised twice before (both times were on Carnival and both times we went to the Bahamas). We will be traveling with our 3 children (12, 8 & 5) and have booked the Family Veranda Suite #9197
I'm feeling slighting overwhelmed and I don't know where to start. This is all new to me and I'm horrible with new things :p
When we went to the Bahamas we booked/planned most of our excursions ourselves and I felt comfortable doing that. Is it safe to do the same in Bermuda? What are some of the "do not miss" things in Bermuda?
What are some "must know" things regarding Celebrity and the Summit? Anyone have thoughts/opinions on the kids program?
I'm sure I will have 1000 more questions but that should help get me started!
Thanks!! :D:D

we received something similar the last morning of our recent cruise. We got a free 3-8 day cruise for TWO from the Players Club :)

I sailed out of Baltimore on the 8th. The snow was on the day that we left - not the day we returned (so hanging out on the Lido would have been fine while waiting to debark). Watching the staff making snowmen was amusing (it was the first time most of them saw snow). The roof was closed over one of the pools. The snow was all melted by the time we woke up on day 2.
We purchased FTTF. We would purchase it again. We were the first to debark after self-assist. I had a friend who was in zone 18 to debark. I was almost half-way home to Upstate NY before she was off the ship. The FTTF line at customer service was terrific (except when other passengers got testy because they had been waiting awhile and we were helped immediately).

awesome review…. we leave in ONE WEEK!! Can't wait to read more

thanks so much for sharing! We are sailing December 8th on the Pride! We are SO CLOSE!!
-
do some research on the TA and get recommendations! you need them to be available for what ever reason (price drop etc)
also, I just read that the Carnival Pride is leaving Baltimore in October so that may be out for next thanksgiving
we will be going on Norwegian

Has anyone ever used a AAA Travel Agent?
I think I found our next cruise and I will hopefully book it after the New Year. I'm going to start researching Travel Agents and have a list of things to already ask (extra fees, watching for price changes and upsells etc).
We are looking at going with Norwegian this time around.
Anything else I should look for or ask?

Just off the Pride, our door wasnt metal, so magnets didnt work. Had to use hockey tape. :p
Thanks for letting me know - I was wondering if they were metal!

Yes, they have Night Owls for this age group-think it is $6.75 per hour.
I have some copies of the Camp Carnival schedule from the Dream Western itinerary from earlier this year, but if you go to the Family section here on CC, you will find a lot more info. I think Crusinmama has an entire link of kids club schedules from various cruise lines.
I can try and answer any questions for you-I had a 2 y/o in the kids club two times now.
I guess the main question was the Night Owl for that age group. I got nervous because I was looking at a copy of the FunTimes and they had the Night Owl listed for 6 and up!
My 4 year old has never been in Daycare but has started pre-k for a half day this year. I think she will enjoy it. How much time do they spend with the older kids? I also have a 8 year old and 11 year old.

Does anyone have a copy of the Camp Carnival schedule for the younger kids (2-5)?
And/Or does anyone know if they have the Night Owl Babysitting for this age group too (from 10-3am)? (not that I would leave her there until 3 am)

Thanks for the review - we sale on the Pride December 8th (Port Canaveral, Nassau & Freeport). I'm hoping for smooth sailing! I have one daughter that gets motion sickness quite easily!

Thanks for all of your comments. I didn't really think I would get more than the facts but...I am a rules sort of person....I can wait til 12:30 or 1:30 or whatever time it is for me to drop my bags. Just trying to plan!
I've learned that you always get more than the facts. This page has given me many a laughs :D
I'm a "rules sort of person" too. We decided to get FTTF only because we will be traveling with 3 kids and all of their "stuff". I would rather get there early, drop off bags, eat, go back to room and unpack and then get on with the vacation :) if I wasn't traveling with the kids I probably wouldn't bother!

We love decorating our door, first cruise was tropical themed, second cruise was done for my son for his graduation but having a problem coming up with a theme for our up coming cruise. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. Any ideas?
Life is better aboard a ship.
An anniversary theme?

I thought the "fear of sharks" punishment was funny, but it come to "bite" you when you later want them to swim in the ocean with you on an excursion.
Haha! That is very true!!

I will say headwaiter saw we were in no hurry and suspect that was the reason for part of the 2 1/2 hour dinner time.
When I don't have my children with me I love long leisurely meals.

I think the food is still good, they have learned to cook less expensive cuts of beef rather well but the service is not what it used to be as the servers have too many people to take care of.
Last cruise we did anytime dining for first time and each dinner took about 2 1/2 hours. It was ok as we cruised with two other couples and had a great time with them.
Otherwise dinner would have seemed like an eternity.
Wow. 2 hours for dinner? That's fine if it's just my husband and I but it wouldn't work so well with my kids!

I think finding my room is easier with decorations. I normally go to a dollar store and find something in the party supply section. Since I don't have kids, it is normally wine related. :D Since it is Christmas time, I think stockings would be cute.
We are putting stockings on one door and something snowman related on the other.

I suspect it's giving the younger people what they want, and for many of us older people, it's not what we want. But they figure we can always move the HAL or Princess if we don't like it.
what do the younger people want?

We will be in Nassau and Freeport and want to pick-up a smiley from each island. Does anyone have any GC's close to the ports that I could use?
-
Carnival does not have the cabins ready when boarding begins. So if you are there before 1:30 or so you will be carrying your hand luggage until then
If you get FTTF you can go to your room as soon as you board. We wanted to get to the ship early but didn't want to carry all of our carry-on around with us.

Thats what mine looked like. yep. said I could get it back last evening of cruise.
that will make me upset - I bought it just to charge my phone and camera via the USB ports. I think I'll pack it with my camera and other electronics (GPS and phone etc)

Nominal fee always means to me that something costs more than I expected!
I know - that's why I wanting to find out how to get prices before showing up to the activity.
First time on Celebrity and in Bermuda
