We will be in Skagway for a long day in a couple weeks and I wondered if there are tours you can just book from the dock? We’ve been there before but it’s been awhile and not interested in a ship’s tour. We may just wander around ourselves and find a nice place for lunch. Any restaurant suggestions?

Yes if there are several cabins open you get to choose - if you receive the email I’d suggest you have the deck plan available so you can see the location of what is offered.

You keep all of your benefits of the original booking but if you were not in a suite before you don’t get the double points. If there are multiple cabins available you get to choose.

I recently received an upsell and I booked with a large internet travel agency but not a Big Box. The email came directly to me and was also sent to my TA. It had the contact info I need to directly contact HAL to book it. Fortunately I saw the email almost immediately and there were 3 Neptune Suites to choose from. I had contacted the Inventory Dept twice looking for an upsell so I don’t know if that got my booking flagged in some way?

You will love it. I will say it is like eating a potato chip - very addicting. And yes it’s like flying biz class hard to go back.

We were on the aft equivalent to 4184 on Rotterdam and LOVED IT! The balcony is HUGE and the cabin was very nice. We didn’t mind the walk to the Neptune Lounge. I would pick that cabin. The motion wasn’t and issue for us and the views were fabulous.

My husband is doing the salmon fishing HAL excursion in Juneau on our June 22 Koningsdam cruise and hoping he catches something so he can have it cooked for dinner. He will have fun no matter what though.

Even though we’ll have HIA - it’s nice to have a bottle of wine (that you like) in the room to drink w/o having to go to the bar. On our last cruise we got COVID at the end of the first week and second week we weren’t drinking in quarantine - I can’t even remember what we did if anything with the sparkling wine.

Also what sparkling wine do they provide?

Can the sparkling wine that you get with a Neptune Suite be exchanged for a regular bottle of wine? I can’t remember if we did that last time.

The Dining room menu works but the Club Orange menu isn’t working.

I just looked there will be 6 ships in port that day (nightmare scenario to me). I miss the old days of cruising to Alaska (early 2000’s). We are last ship to arrive.

We are on the June 22 Koningsdam sailing. There will be 6 ships in port - looks like Koningsdam alternates weeks with Eurodam on who has to tender. 6 ships in port will be a nightmare for sure. Cruising to Alaska is so different from the first time I did it in 2001. I miss the old days. I have booked a ship’s tour but husband is doing independent fishing trip.

Found out we will be tendering in Ketchikan and are at anchor 3. How efficient is this process? I assume they use ship’s tenders to do this.

Just found out we will be tendering in Ketchikan (bummer) and wondered how quickly/smoothly this works. I booked a HAL tour but my husband has private fishing tour - we have Club Orange so hoping this makes it easier for him. Any insight would be appreciated.

We are limber and can manage luggage but not a fan of luggage and escalators - are there elevators?

I will check it out when we are there before the cruise and see how easy it looks.

That’s what I was afraid of. Last time I disembarked there I was herding 9 people through the crowds with luggage and it was not a pleasant experience - I am looking to make this easier.
