  1. If you're worried about the tender maybe you could book a carnival excursion that's similar to what you wanted to do. I'm not sure what you planned on doing at Caye Caulker. I haven't heard of it. Maybe next time you go you will be able to get fttf and go to Caye Caulker. I had a carnival excursion when I went to belize so they had us wait as a group in the lounge. I don't even know how the tendering worked for people who did not have a carnival excursion. I do know that our group was one of the last ones back and our ship was late leaving because they waited for us.

  2. Does that medicine make you drowsy at all?

    Thank you

It does make me drowsy, but not as much as regular dramamine. I find that if I take it at night I'm not as drowsy during the day. The scopalamine patch does not make me drowsy, but it's prescription only. It can cause blurry vision and dry mouth, but it works great.

  3. How are the coves better than the regular balconies?

I think it's a subjective and personal opinion. They are closer to the water than other balconies so that's something different. Also they're under the lifeboats so they are considered more private. I'm staying in my first cove balcony in September on the Dream.

  4. My mom and I are doing a bike tour through carnival. My mom has already done it once and really liked it. You also go to the Garden of the Groves for lunch and a beach. Too bad the kids aren't interested in kayaking. My husband and I did that and it was a lot of fun and also beautiful.

  5. I bring them for the trip to the ship and back home. Also for excursions. I tend to do all day excursions that don't always provide lunch so I need something to keep me going. And worse case scenario, the ship loses power and can't cook food, at least I have my granola bars. ;)

  6. Yes, my husband and I did this. It is beautiful! We loved it. We had a few arguments about which way to paddle ;), but overall it was a very peaceful experience. After kayaking, we took a bus to Gold Rock Beach. It's one of the most beautiful secluded beaches I've ever seen. They had a picnic area where we made sandwiches for lunch. There is a raccoon who comes up for a piece of bread. He is really cute. Then we went on a nature hike to see different ecosystems in Freeport. They took us to some caves as well. It took the whole day, so we were not able to do any shopping, but I would definitely do this again.

  7. Yes, the soda from mini fridges and room service is not part of the package, but if you are just paying per soda, then you can get if from your fridge, room service, bar, theater (during shows), and dining room. You can also bring your own soda in your carry on.

  8. My husband gets the soda package and he gets it at the main dining room as well. Most of the ships have a video arcade where your son can play either by himself or with others. You should check for your ship. Other than that I know nothing about the kids clubs.

  9. I can only answer about the cave tubing. The tube made the hike a little more difficult. My arms got tired from holding it. I would switch arms when 1 got tired. But it's worth it. I really enjoyed the tubing and once you're on your tube you can relax. We did get out of the tube a couple of times to walk around in the cave but you don't have to hold on to your tube for this. The guides take care of them. Wear some supportive shoes that can get wet. I wore my Keen sandals.

  10. If you end up getting late dining, you should go see the maitre d the first night and ask if you can change. My husband and I had anytime dining for 1 cruise and waited in line for about 30-40 minutes before being seated. We didn't want to do that every night, so we talked to the maitre d after dinner the first night and got confirmation for late dining in our room the next day. It was really easy.

  11. My husband and I usually sail out of Galveston in April. I never noticed an unusually high amount of children on board. We usually have spring break in March in Texas. Thanksgiving week was a different story. There were over 1000 kids on board and we could definitely tell. They weren't bad kids and we did enjoy the cruise.

  12. I have a friend who booked an early saver during the half deposit sale and right after she booked it, she had to change the date of her cruise. All she lost was $50. She also had to pay the rest of the deposit because the sale was over, but the rest of her original deposit went towards her new booking. This happened earlier this month.

I also booked under early saver and the half deposit sale and my fine print said I would only lose $50 and the rest would be credit. I haven't changed mine though.

  13. We experienced fog for one of our cruises in April one year. We didn't get on board until 12:30 the next morning. I was exhausted. They had to reverse the itinerary so that we could still go to every port. We still had a great time.
