Easy peasy: buy one of these...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SY5O5K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There is almost always an outlet behind the bed for the lamp. Pull the bed away from the wall (or ask the steward to do it), plug the CPAP into one of the 110 outlets, the lamp into a 220 outlet and the adapter into the wall. Shove the bed back and you're good to go.

Dh has been doing this for years by himself.  Plug adapters we have are good for us.  Use them in the European desk outlet too.

We have a couple of European adapters I bring.  On some of the ships, you can get to the plug for the bed table light on each side and plug it in and have access to electricity that way without cables strung across the cabin.  Not sure about the newer ships though.

I have extension cords similar to the ones above with both outlet and USB.  They are not surge protected though.  You can buy them on Amazon.  I typically use the European adapter, then plug in the extension cord, and now I have electric and USB right on the table besides the bed.

The Royal class ships have the European outlet behind at least one bed.  DH uses it to keep from bringing an extension cord.

This may be a silly question, but having never traveled to Europe and having a CPAP machine, would I just bring an adapter to use for my extension cord? Then my CPAP would work fine through the extension cord?

Husband has used his CPAP in Europe and on cruise ships.  His CPAP (verified with the supply store) can be used either 110 or 220.  There is a label on the CPAP with 110/220 also.  We use a European type plug for the European hotel wall outlets and then we can use a regular US extension cord in  it if needed.  Otherwise, we just plug the CPAP cord plug into the European plug in the European wall outlet.  On the cruise ship, there will be a European wall outlet behind the bed that the lamp is plugged into.  We unplug the lamp and use the European plug for that outlet and then plug in the CPAP.  Haven't had to use an extension cord in a long time either at hotels or on the cruise ship.

We got our European style wall plugs while we were living in Germany so we could use all our US stuff.  People on Cruise Critic  have posted pictures of the different types of European or other countries  wall plugs they have bought off Amazon.

I was on the Island this summer in Norway/Greenland/Iceland and saw "The Secret Silk", "On the Bayou", "So You Wanna Dance?", and "Encore".  I absolutely HATED "Secret Silk", but did enjoy the other production shows, although "Encore" is very much a showcase for the mezzo soprano, Shelly Rivers.

If you are ever on the Coral Princess, go see "On The Bayou" again.  It is performed on the turning stage which I heard was removed from the Island.

  5. Glad I wasn't the only one to say you had to be on board to view the video.  Though I am going to see what happens Monday evening (25th) when we are at our pre cruise hotel before boarding the 26th..  They have made me too curious not to try.

really, on Royal I can watch it any time before I go.  Guess I will figure it out if the App ever works.  I still cannot get into it, says they are having server issues.

Have no problem opening my Medallion app.  This is a Medallion app screen shot for Safety Essentials.  I'm not a techie, but it is your Medallion you use on board (NOT the App) that confirms you have watched the video and have scanned it at your muster station.  The ship makes numerous announcements before sail away of how many passengers still have not completed their safety requirements - shown below.

I will watch the video before we go, IF I  can ever get into the app.  All I get is "we are having server difficulties, try back later"

I'm sure you have to be on the ship to watch the video  - if you meant watch before going to the ship.

not anymore.  You walk up, get you boarding pass scanned, they ask if you watched the video, and you are good to go.  We love it.  We go the minute we are on the ship and get it done.  Takes less than a minute.

We usually watch the video as we are putting our carry on stuff away, go get medallion scanned at our muster station and then off to MDR for lunch.

I have also read elsewhere that some cruise lines will do a full muster (cattle herding) in order to keep the crew up to date - I don't know if this has reached Princess yet.

Haven been on about 20 Princess cruises since    the restart in 2021.and have never seen anything like this for passengers.  The crew will have their mandatory safety drills but passengers aren't involved.

  10. Watch a safety video on your device or your cabin TV.  Then walk to your muster station where there should be 2 crew standing at the door way or in the hall with a scanner for you to tap your Medallion.  That's it.

Haven't been on RCL for awhile but when we were there is was a horrible set up.  We stood  in a section of the main deck,  very crowded to listen and try and watch a video screen.

It was useful for you to post the Fare Codes.  Those are guest-specific codes that not every person can get.  Princess will have put this offer out to a selected market segment.  If eligible, I imagine those folks will receive similar notice by email or snail mail.

Also, if anyone uses or has access to a 3rd party booking engine (typically external travel agencies or travel providers), you can login and shop a cruise and see if the above Fare Codes are in the eligible list.  But I do think you would know from a notice from PCL.

ETA:  the last time PCL did this, the money was Non-Refundable OBC that could be spent on anything and not just excursions.

On 3 cruises the 4 of us had $1200 for the excursions promotion to spend. Sure came in handy when booking tours and going to Crown Grill.

Finally Princess is offering something back.  This brochure just came by snail mail so this offer has been out there more than this week.  I wouldn’t be upset except for the fact that before I booked on Wednesday, I spoke with two princess vacation planners and neither offered this (up to) $200 per stateroom excursion credit, in fact they offered zero in the way of perks which is why I booked with my TA.  I hope my TA can snag this credit for my 17 day Alaska cruisetour.  Maybe someone can use this info.

Here are the promotion codes ULO/UPO/URO. Campaign Code PD3MD018A/Z_418A/Z.
can you post the cruises that are covered under this new excursion program

We are booked on two B2B transits late next year.

Both cruises are currently scheduled to San Juan del Sur.

Can I expect this port to be cancelled ?

Is a replacement in Mexico likely to be added on either the Eastbound or Westbound one, or simply a sea day added ?

In Feb/Mar 2022, we did B2B transits also.  Both our stops in San Juan del Sur were cancelled and became sea days.

Interesting story (although sad for us!) somewhat involving the Sky...although this is in no way the fault of Princess or the Sky!  We were booked on the Sky for a transatlantic leaving from Fort Lauderdale early last year (March 2022).  We had *always* just flown to the port on the day of embarkation (at least for domestic sailings) since it was such a short 2 flight hop to FLL.  There was a CRAZY cold snap in the Southeast that day.  We got to our local airport in plenty of time for our 7:00am flight...only to discover that Delta had not checked their de-icing equipment!  It had been well known that this cold snap was "on the way" at least 2 days prior...but Delta employee(s) apparently didn't see the need to check their equipment.  Well...long story short, our 7:00am flight left at about 12:30pm, arriving in ATL with not enough time to make it to the ship!  That was our last time to fly on the day of embarking!

We're booked on the Sky for the transatlantic we missed that day...just coming back from Southampton.

Ouch!!  We never fly day of cruise.  Even with an overnight stay,  always make sure there are flights to the port after the one we are one.  I do not have a cast iron stomach to have that big a worry of a same day to ship flight.

IDK why they would shy away from that one.  Ask them if they have TikTok on their phones - LOL.

Anyway, if everyone you want to reach out is on Apple, then fine.  Otherwise, need something else, like Facetime.  You have more flexibility with Internet.  If you do not have internet, then I think Apple iMessage is about it.

Always have internet but no tik tok.

  16. Don't know if I'm missing something  in this discussion, but have an iPhone and with the ship's internet we call, text, Facetime with family/friends back home or with family/friends cruising with us.   Always get a "beep/ring" when text, etc comes in.    Was going to try What's App but no one at home wants to download/use the app.

It's what tipping used to be here.  Now tips are expected even if not really providing a service.

I must have an "S" on my forehead for sucker.  When I paid for our first ever dinner in Sydney, Australia in 2010, I gave cash and expected to get back AU$10 or $15 in change. Waiter took the payment and never saw him again.  In 2011, we were having dinner in Dover UK and when the ticket came was surprised to see that  it had a printed line added to write in your  tip amount.  So they might say they are not a tipping culture, but they sure wanted a tip.  In AU we  were with another US couple so guess that made use fair game but in Dover we were with English friends.

If you aren't satisfied there seek out the Captain's Circle Host (sorry, I can't remember offhand what stupid name this has been changed to) and, between these three approaches, your really should be able to contact someone who can assist you.

The Future Cruise Consultant and her/his group are now assigned the duties  once given to the "old title" Captain Circle Hostess or Loyalty Manager.  The Events Manager works out of Guest Services - I believe.
