  1. I will never understand this. They should just make it mandatory so the workers don't get stiffed. Holding back gratuities and paying individually does not help all the people in the background that make the cruise work that you will not be tipping. I don't use the MDR but use all the other eating facilities and would never think of canceling the tip because I don't use one part of the ship over the other. I once asked a waiter when 15% was the norm if he would like it automatically added to the bill or take his chances on the peoples generosity. He said he would make out way better with standard tip of 15% from everybody. Cruise lines should just add it on and not let people take it off.

  2. Yes, that's the reason. All they said in the email is they have to conduct important routine maintenance. To me, if its routine then why no one on the ship at that time. It makes no difference to me because this is not my first cruise. A first timer would probably be very upset, because they are basically missing over half a day. Plus I still don't see how they will get people to muster while still boarding the ship or leave their dinner to muster. It will be a Kodak moment.

  3. The Majesty sailing on February 20th has a delayed boarding between 5:30-7:30 PM. I was wondering if anyone ever boarded a ship this late and what/when happens with the safety drill. People will be wanting to eat supper, get to their rooms. Seems like it will be a circus.

  4. I got a pack and play offer once, almost two years ago. Since then I have always played the same amount on every cruise, and have not recveived any pack and play offers. The last two cruises were bounce back offers. I have no clue as to how they offer them or why. Like them better then the bounce back but will take whatever is offered. :)

  5. Probably not but I would hire a lawyer and try just the same. Police and gov't workers are so protected that it is hard to get justice even when its their fault. They would be getting sued every day because they make so many of these mistakes. This is why I would never answer a call on a Ship until we are at sea. What are they going to do then? Throw you overboard?

  6. I am in the "can't hurt, might help" camp with the sanitizers. Unless you have an allergic reaction to it then why not grab some. personally I luckily have never been sick on a carnival cruise and I am platinum. I wash my hands regularly and touch the elevator buttons with the back of my knuckles. I also which to many may seem over the top but remember I have never gotten sick is go back to the sanitizer or bring a small bottle with me whenever I go through a buffet line. I think the tongs are the most bacteria and grossest things you touch on the ship. The menus may be second. Its a little bit of a hassle but I feel better when I start eating. IMO

  7. My personal experience. I was offered a bounce back lat cruise and I didn't play any more or less then my previous three cruises. So who knows what criteria they use or if they stick to it from ship to ship. The last free cruise through pack and play offers was last received two years ago. Don't think they are offering that anymore or on a very limited basis.

  8. Now, Now Loxley, lets not get personal. But since you did lets not play semantics, if you know what that means. You know what we are talking about here. Its obvious you had problems in following rules in school and disdain for teachers. That is not the topic here.
