I received an email today that Sensation is replacing Fantasy in Mobile.
Is this proof enough?

Ah, you're right.
Good catch! There ya go. It's over.

Booking for the Fantasy now closed.
I'm still seeing it on carnival.com for booking. Where is it closed? Only a matter of time IMO. Hard to deny with the ship destination update.

So why Is Inspiration is with Fantasy? As right now shes showing her cruises from Long Beach? I thought maybe the crew from Fantasy is being transfer to Inspiration
I've seen speculation that the items from Fantasy were being moved to Inspiration - and also speculation that Inspiration was having its items removed as well and is headed to Turkey next.

Good, get rid of the old cramped boats showing their age and focus on the bigger better more cost effective ones.
I found Fantasy to be more spacious than the newer ships.
I'm sure it wasn't exactly fuel efficient, but I'd think it was a money-maker since it was likely long paid off. But probably a pain to up-keep.

The Curacao Ports Authority has a picture on FB of Fantasy and Inspiration with the caption: Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Inspiration moored at the container terminal for unloading heavy equipment.
Someone noted that the generators appear to be removed from the ships.
There are also reports that ship tracking sites show Fantasy's next destination as Turkey, where a ship scrapping yard is nearby.
No official word from Carnival, and the Fantasy bookings are still available on the website.

I noticed that now you can request a lift & shift online using a web form (maybe this has been around for a while and is just new to me). I like the idea of this better than calling in. Has anyone done a L&S this way, through the web form, and had success?

Check this link for the itineraries: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2021_2022/AL.pdf

I would say only 7 night to 7 night.
Unfortunately there's only 6 or 8 night options the month I had previously booked Allure in, so guess the offer today doesn't apply to me. Darn.

The plot thickens. I was booked on a 7 night Allure in Feb 2022 from Galveston.
There are no 7 night Allure cruises in Jan, Feb or Mar 2022 to switch to based on this link, they are 6 or 8 nights only. So not sure how the email they sent applies to me: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2021_2022/AL.pdf

Thanks for sharing - got the same email.
My question (that you probably saw on the other thread) is the Allure FLL sailings appear to be different lengths (4-9 nights), while Galveston was all 7 nights. Will be interesting to see if there are 7 night sailings to line up in the 4 week window to allow the shifting and price protection.

New sailings now available. 4 to 9 night itineraries from FLL.
At this time, we are reaching out to advise of Allure of the Seas' exciting new deployment itineraries for the winter 2021-2022 season, sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Allure of the Seas will sail 4 to 9-Night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, which are now available to book. From Cozumel, Mexico to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, your clients will experience the tropics like never before!
Thanks. I wonder if they will only price protect customers to the 7 night sailings - assuming there is a 7 night Allure sailing within a 4 week window of the original bookings.
They must be in the process of uploading them to the website. I see January 2022 but not February yet.

Just received this email. However, the Allure itineraries for the month I booked in (Feb 2022) are not available on the website and I'm reading on here they're doing 4 or 6 night cruises. So not sure how that will work since Allure from Galveston was a 7 night cruise.
Dear Guest,
Last week, we shared that due to shipyard closures and disruption to supply chain caused by this pandemic, Allure of the Seas’ amplification was being moved to a later date. And, as a result of pier construction delays in the Galveston terminal, Allure of the Seas would no longer sail from Galveston during the Winter 2021 - 2022 deployment. So, we had to move you to a similar itinerary onboard Liberty of the Seas.
Well, we have great news to share! We’ve been working tirelessly on confirming Allure’s new itineraries. And if you had your heart set on the ship, and the embarkation port was not the most important factor for you - you’ll be able to book Allure today! We wanted you to be the first to know since your sailing was unfortunately impacted. 😊
If you’ve already moved to the comparable Liberty of the Seas sailing or an alternate 7-night Caribbean sailing and would like to stay, there’s nothing for you to do. If you prefer to move to one of Allure’s new itineraries, call us by July 7, 2020 at 888-281-9344 and we’ll be happy to re-book, even if you cancelled your reservation or if you took advantage of our Lift and Shift offer.
If you choose to move to Allure of the Seas, you’ll receive the following:- Your original cruise fare paid for Allure of the Seas will be price protected at the original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items.
-
- If you were already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we’ll provide you with a refund if there is any difference in pricing. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment 45 days after you submit your refund request. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution.
-
- We’ll also waive any non-refundable deposit change fees associated with the move.
- Please know, if you weren’t previously booked on a holiday sailing (Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter), sailings during that timeframe are excluded from your options.
- Lastly, if you opted into the Cruise with Confidence 100% Future Cruise Credit prior to this email, you will be able to take advantage of this new offer.
Your vacation is important to us and we really look forward to welcoming you onboard! Please call us at 888-281-9344 or contact your Travel Advisor by July 7, 2020 to let us know if you’d like to change your sailing to a new Allure of the Seas itinerary. If we don’t hear from you by July 7, 2020, no action will be taken and you’ll remain booked on the Liberty of the Seas sailing. And remember, you’ll still have the flexibility to cancel through our Cruise with Confidence program up to 2 days before your departure date. Click here to learn about this program.
We hope you find another cruise vacation with us. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or looking to explore, relax, and recharge - we have no doubt your time with us will be nothing short of amazing. We look forward to welcoming you onboard. -
I'm thankful for them doing the right thing, and quickly realizing it.

Adding to the chorus here. I booked Allure from Galveston for the ship. I Lifted & Shifted my way into a good price on Allure, now I'm on Liberty. Been there, done that. I was expecting a bit of OBC for the "lesser" ship, or price protection to Allure from FLL. Surprised Royal didn't offer that - I've found them reasonable in most other cases.

Sorry if I missed another thread about this.
A little disappointed because I booked for the ship, but it is what it is.
E-mail received today:

Given the closure of shipyards along with the disruption to the supply chain caused by this pandemic, the amplification of Allure of the Seas, which included renovations and new signature attractions, has been moved to a later date. Currently, Allure is in Cadiz, Spain receiving a routine technical dry dock to ensure she is ready for your cruise. And, due to pier construction delays in the Galveston terminal, the pier will unfortunately not be ready to welcome an Oasis Class ship. As a result, Allure of the Seas will no longer sail from Galveston during Winter 2021 - 2022 and will sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, instead.
We know how much time and effort go into planning your cruise and apologize for the delay in construction plans. We were excited about it, too. However, the good news is, Liberty of the Seas will take Allure's place in Galveston come Winter 2021 and will set sail on 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries on the exact same days as your original cruise. To make this transition easier, we're automatically moving you to the Liberty of the Seas sailing departing on the same day as your original sailing. Rest assured, you'll be moved to the best available stateroom, your cruise fare amount will either be protected at your original rate or reduced to the current rate (whichever is lower), and all of your amenities will remain the same. For your convenience, your new stateroom number will be xxxx, once our updates are complete.
If you've already paid your reservation in full, and your cruise fare rate decreases, we'll refund you the difference to the original form of payment once the move is complete. You can expect to receive your refund within 45 days.
And although not the original ship planned, we know you'll enjoy the Liberty of the Seas. Our thrill seekers can take the plunge on our dual waterslides - The Perfect Storm, surf the waves on the FlowRider, then show off your skills in our ice-skating rink. If relaxing is number one on your to do list, we also have you covered. Enjoy live music as you sip a cocktail, experience world-class entertainment at live production show, or grab a bite to eat at one of our specialty dining venues. Please see your revised itinerary outlined below.Day

While we do hope you choose to stay booked on the Liberty, we understand the impact this change has caused on your vacation. Should you choose not to sail, you are welcome to take advantage of our Cruise with Confidence policy. This provides you with the flexibility to cancel your reservation up to 48 hours prior to departure for sailings that depart before April 30th, 2022 and receive a Future Cruise Credit. I've had two call centre reps tell me Sunday night is the best time to call. Still a long wait to do the Lift & Shift - it's not the initial hold time that's the longest, it's them waiting to get a supervisor's approval for the price protection.

Southwest has released flights to Jan 4 2021 currently.
This is a new one for me - the website says: "At this time, we do not have a date for our next schedule extension therefore please check back frequently."

Port Everglades rental car locations
in Florida Departures
Posted
A few years ago, we rented a car through Hertz near Port Everglades (455 Southeast 24th Street).
That location appears to no longer be there.
Does anybody know of any car rental agencies near the port, or would the closest be at the airport?
