  1. I didn't realize I was doing anything wrong. Pixiedustdawn knows that we spoke and I apologized about them, even offered to take them down. I just got over excited. Wasn't my intent at all. Sorry!

No problem, wish you would have enlarged them so everyone can see.

    Dawn :)

  2. So for those of you who thought there wouldn't be any big changes, there are! Look at the pictures I have posted here for you. Enjoy. There is alot that can be done in 2 weeks when everything is planned and construction is in place as soon as the ship docks. Here you go....:D

Can I ask where you are getting my photos from?

    Thank you

  3. Thank you for that. I was wondering why the Gem is still sitting in port. I thought it was to leave at 1pm, but maybe there's no rush since it's going into dry dock.

Late departure due to some contractors boarding.

    She is on her way!

  4. I had read that the suites were supposed to be renovated but other cc members said that was nixed so I am hoping it is true!

I have also heard suites and Haven will be renovated, as well as public areas onboard too. Bliss won't look the same anymore as far as what I am hearing. No more bowling alleys. They will be removed as they are doing right now to the Epic.

  5. Don't assume that. The Gem is scheduled to go through additional renovations before the end of the year. NCL doesn't give the exact dates and if you cruise on one of the "cheap" weeks... You know the weeks after thanksgiving but before Christmas you could very well be on board during a renovation. This uncertainty (and thread) was one of the reasons I ultimately selected getaway over gem (with no airfare).

Not sure what you are saying. October 30-November 13th the Gem is scheduled for dry dock.

She will be in Freeport, Bahamas without passengers. Excited and can't wait to see what she will look like after all has been done!!!

  6. This is what I was told when I asked about the priority boarding "

Hi, it was added by our rep.

You will receive all the amenities while on board. Once you arrive at the pier, you will need to go to the suite area and tell them you are on the manifest for priority boarding. I will warn you, they may give you a hard time and claim they don’t “see” you on the list as this perk is strictly for suite guests, but insist to them to look for the cabin #."

I used cruises n more and tried to get a price match and they couldn't do it and said "

    >> I did hear from our Sales Manager at NCL, and he confirmed those are group rates that they are trying to sell. Although we won't be able to match the rates, due to our great relationship with NCL he is willing to add a $200 on board credit and a VIP package (this includes priority embarkation/disembarkation, bottle of champagne upon arrival, choc. Covered strawberries, 2 for 1 dinner at a specialty restaurant and other amenities)"

Sounds good! Enjoy and hope to see you onboard!

  7. I have never been on any of the really new ships. Is it really true they don't have a Promenade deck? I thought they had a place where you could still walk around and around the ship, it's just that there are cafes and such out there too. I depend on the Promenade deck to do a lot of walking and get my exercise. The jogging track just won't do, because it's hard to stay out of the way of the joggers.

Gem has a promenade deck. Deck 7
