  1. This story is remarkable. Whether she jumped with a vest or was thrown a vest. Its an amazing survival story. With a fast moving ship, even if a vest was thrown it would take quite a struggle to get to that vest (not to mention you have not been knocked out or disabled by the impact).

And this happened at night? Even another remarkable detail.

Very true David, Remarkable and amazing! And I am just praying she realizing that, and decides to enjoy and cherish her life now. Everyone has issues they have to deal with, but doing or having something like this happen to you and you survive surely must send a signal that you are meant to be here to do something important.

    Great job Getaway rescue crew!

  2. pixiedustdawn,

do you have a summary of your trips on the rebel yell and/or pictures?

would love to hear what you recommend.

    thanks!

I stayed inside on the ride over and back over Easter sinc eit was a bit rainy and cool. Otherwise, if you are into the wind, sun and sea spray, stay outdoors.

Went straight to the beach and got loungers, not many. We also grabbed a hammock 2 the two times we were there. Very relaxing day. We got AT&T on the island of Tortola.

Don't forget they have a camera on the beach, so your family and friends can see you there. Sit by the table by the boat and smile for the camera.

    Enjoy your day there.

  3. Thank you!

BTW, the Nickelodeon Pajama Jam is on a port day? I guess that's not going to happen since we have an excursion that day. That's pretty dumb scheduling.

We didn't get to Port Canaveral til noon on this cruise. No interruption with the port day what so ever. I am sure they change things around depending on the ships schedule to dock at port.

  4. From NBC News

We are extremely saddened to have learned that a guest passed away on Sunday aboard Norwegian Gem.

‎On Sunday afternoon, the ship’s medical team responded to an emergency call from the pool deck, as a ten year-old female guest was reported unresponsive. The team quickly administered CPR and full emergency care. After extensive efforts, the guest could not be revived.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family during this very difficult time. Norwegian’s care team is providing full assistance and support to the family.

Norwegian Gem departed New York on Saturday on a seven-day Bahamas & Florida cruise.

    Prayers for the family.

  5. I was there with you and have to agree. I wanted to go to the Q&A, but had some decent weather at the pool, so didn't get there. I usually enjoy that. I was disappointed with most of the shows. I enjoyed the comic and that was about it. There's usually some kind of acrobatic show or cirque and there wasn't any of that. I like magicians, but none of that either.

I'm booked on the Gem again next April and hope the shows get better. Spent too much time in the casino since the shows bored me.

I don't think I ever went passed deck 13. I'll have to check out 14 next time.

I still had a great cruise and hated going back to work today.

Ohhh you must have missed the show MAGIKA??

    I really enjoyed it!
