I am just curious why in some home ports the cheers pkg doesn't start until day 2?

I am cruising at the end of this month.
May 29th On Elation out of Jacksonville, FL
Only four more Monday's to go.
Tell me who is cruising this month and which ship. Also if anyone is going to the Bahamas can you give me any tips on what to do? It been a while since we last went.
didn't you join your roll call?

I don't like it at all:(

I have to agree with everyone that there is nothing wrong with them. we have had all types and really do love sleeping the best in the interiors. Our September cruise is an interior again. Our last cruise in January we had a balcony and I really wish I had saved the money and did the interior.

I don't really care about the pools and swimming you have to remember the hot tubs and the relaxing part of the adult only area. So often the kids are unattended or the parents just ignore them and they really can be very disturbing. I had four of my own and when they were younger I would have respected other adults for the time away from kids they deserve.

every drink will be listed on the print out and which bar you had them at.

We live west of Albany and east of Binghamton, just about half way right near Oneonta. Ever hear of it?
You and DH share a birth DAY. Same exact day!!! And I am a good speller lol. When I registered for CC years ago, there was already a Cruising Karen. So I put in a bunch of different spellings, and this is what I was given! BTW, we have a summer camp on Great Lake Sacandaga in Northville, NY. Anywhere near you? Have never been on Sunshine, but cruised on Destiny a bunch of times. -
OP, we are also doing this cruise, but on 9/23. I had to do a double take, tho, because your name is DH'es EXACT birthday. I am assuming it is yours also. And he was born in the Bronx and your "hometown" is listed as NY.
You are correct, it is my b-day. I was actually born in Queens, NY. We now live upstate NY. I had to laugh because your name "Crusin Karen" I thought you might be my cousin Karen. She recently fell in love with cruising and has joined some sites but I don't know which ones. Enjoy your cruise, I can't wait since it's so different from any of our past cruises.

I really would love some information about weather, how to dress and better port info for Halifax and St Johns? We are going Sept 9th out of NY. We like to do things on our own and see as much as we can. Thanks for any help!

I would have to say that most of the time it is on a sea day, unless it's a port that you are back on the ship really early. Never happened for us that way.

Love the L-shaped cabins. Will be in one this Sunday!!! The room is a little smaller it seems but the layout with the bed facing the two windows is wonderful. Love waking up in the morning and just lying there in bed and looking out at the ocean. the balcony I also enjoyed because of the lounge chair. TRY IT YOU"LL LIKE IT!

does anyone else feel like this?
I have been looking for a reasonably priced cruise for next april/may and i can't get over the cost.
It's killing me because i want to plan one and have yet to find one we can afford. I usually have one booked by now for next year.
A 7 day caribbean cruise on a balcony is around $1300.00 before port charges and taxes. That is an expensive trip when you have to add airfare too. What the heck is happening to the industry!
This is the first year that i'm seeing this.....if anyone see's a deal, let me know.
:d
i think the prices are higher. I do understand why they are but for so long getting such great rates it's disapointing.

Seriously? Does other peoples problems do something for you?
Thank you first to those that responded with reasons one could be denied. To Micahs Grandad we are traveling with a bunch of people and there happens to be a couple who refuses to except that ID documentation has changed since she first cruised 14 years ago. I don't care to have to leave them behind as we sail away. Thanks everyone!

Does anyone know of any horror stories where quest were denied boarding for any reason, ID, sick etc.?

Are the Jeep rentals CASH ONLY or will they take a credit card?
I ask only because we were surprised in December when we were told that the taxi fares were CASH ONLY and we had assumed we would be able to use a credit card like we did in Grand Cayman and have at other places on other vacas. (Not blaming anyone else, I simply had not researched it ... I'll know better 'next time')
when we rented about 3-4 years ago it was with credit card. Actually if I remember correctly you had to put up a credit card to rent one.

If anyone has been to Cozumel recently can you tell me if they still have a bunch of Jeeps right outside the port that you can rent. Have done it 2x's in the past but can not get any real info if they are still right there. Thanks!

my husband had complete hip replacement and has never carried any card or letter he just tells them and they use the hand scan. He always kids with them and ask if they want to see his scars. One day they are going to say yes and I think he'll be totally shocked. There have been a couple of times that the alarm didn't even go off.

walk right up to the bar and get a drink, then drop things off in cabin and get a bite to eat after that.

Since I feel the need to over plan every aspect of my vacation, I was thinking about water. Typically I order a case of water for our room. Now that CHEERS includes bottles of water, is it worth doing that? I would think that as long as I remember to get water often enough, I would keep some in my room. I might still get a case for the room my teenagers are in, just so they remember to keep hydrated, for when my nagging isn't enough....
Thank you for any thoughts...
I ordered one case to be sure I always have some. I know there will be those times I forget to get one before returning to our cabin.

The pool at the back of the ship do they keep that for adults only?

We have been on many cruises for super bowl and it was on everywhere. Some areas have some great football type snacks, we have even had drink specials. Why stay in your room, you are on vacation!
-
how was the chefs table menu. We are doing it in January and I was curious if it was new.
-
take the water taxi or walk across the double bridges and find a beach on paradise island.
-
11:00 exactly and the best part was we were the first ones on and there was a long wait between the next few people. The crew were all amazed when it was just us arriving.:D
I promise not the normal cheers question

Since I started this post I might as well try and end it....I DO NOT LIVE ON THIS SITE AS MANY OF YOU DO, I only check it out when I have something on my mind. So the odds of me missing many, many post about the same thing is great. Signed a person with a life!:p
